The Katrina Memorial in Biloxi Mississippi is located near Highway 90 in Biloxis Town Green. Dedicated to the gulf coast victims who perished in Hurricane Katrina. Opened Feb 15, 2006 in a ceremony with ABC's "Extreme Makeover" crew. see Opening Ceremony.

The Memorial stands 12 feet tall, about the height of the water during Hurricane Katrinas storm surge at the Town Green.

The Memorial contains a tile inlay of a wave (see photos). And a glass case containing various items from destroyed buildings.

Ron and I visited the memorial last October while visiting the area (We live in Newark, CA). It was very touching. When the news of the hurricane was being televised, it broke our hearts to see so much devastation. Thank you to the people who built this memorial. Biloxi/Gulfport area has and always been my favorite destination!

ME AND MY FAMILY LIVED IN ST.MARTIN WHEN KATRINA HIT ,MY HUSBAND WAS ON HIS SHRIMPBOAT AND THE BOAT WENT UNDER BUT HE SAVED MY DOG PRINECESS WE WERE ALL LUCKY TO BE ALIVE BUT GOD BLESS ALL THAT LOST ITS NOT FAIR

Hi, i just wanted to say that I heard this band "Forgotten" recently and they have made this wonderful song "Alone" dedicated to all the victims in the hurricane katrina, here´s a link to the song http://www.purevolume.com/forgotten_
