COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH/AP) — Ohio Gov. John  Kasich Wednesday issued an executive order, changing the anti-discrimination policy for state employees to include “gender identity or expression.”

The order, only effective until Jan. 13, prohibits discrimination based on “gender identity and expression” in state personnel decisions.

The order rescinds the years-old policy put in place by Kasich when he was newly elected in Jan. 2011, which did not include gender identity.
