‘Don’t blame me, I’m from Massachusetts’ bumper sticker is resurrected post-election

The Environmental League of Massachusetts is re-releasing a bumper sticker used 44 years ago when Richard Nixon won the presidential election and Massachusetts was the only state whose electoral votes backed Democratic opponent George McGovern, reports State House News Service.

The bumper sticker says, “Don’t blame me, I’m from Massachusetts.”

Republican Donald Trump won the presidential election earlier this month, but Massachusetts’ electoral votes backed Democrat Hillary Clinton.

“Thought this might be a fun footnote to an unfun election,” George Bachrach, president of the Environmental League of Massachusetts, told the State House News Service. “With Washington moving in the wrong direction, we’re committed to making Mass. a national role model.”

The bumper sticker will be re-released during the group’s fall reception on Thursday.
