Canva Integration Enhancements
Built on Canva's new API, the Canva-Brandfolder integration now comes with much improved asset discovery, including the ability to: filter by tags, upload date, and file types, navigate to specific sections and collections, view assets details and metadata, and toggle between grid and list view.
Custom Field Dependencies
Custom field dependencies allow certain custom fields to be "unlocked" by a particular input, for example "Ad" inputted in the Asset Type Field would then unlock the Ad Channel field. This allows you to minimize the number of custom fields displayed on an asset and meaningfully require custom fields, especially in asset upload workflows.
Asset History Log
Admins and owners can now see changes made to individual assets over the last 180 days in our new Asset History Log. From updates to tags, descriptions, custom fields, and more, you can see it all on one screen.

Improved Asset Permissons
This new feature enables admins to select one or more assets and set them as ‘view only’ to manage whether or not other users can download these assets.

It's also a convenient way to manage user permissions and provide view-only access to an archive of content for reference or historical purposes.

Custom Template Approvals
With custom template approvals, admins can set up an approval process for any template before it can be downloaded and customized by collaborators or guests. This ensures that all marketing content meets brand guidelines and maintains brand integrity. And since the approvals process is automated, it saves time and hassle for everyone involved.
CDN Subscription Management
This update enables Brandfolder customers to take advantage of economies of scale and reduce the administrative burden on users who manage multiple Brandfolders. The legacy monthly limit usage model has been retired and Brandfolder is introducing a new usage model that enables CDN limits to be determined and displayed based on annual pricing.
Update Comment Permissions
This update enables comments and annotations to only display on the Brandfolder, Collection, or Share Links that they were created in for better visibility and information management. This enhancement gives you more control over the information displayed on your assets and helps keep things organized.

Required Custom Fields
Brandfolder’s required custom fields allow admin-level users to specify requirements and ensure information is captured via custom fields when any new asset is uploaded. Collecting clean and consistent data will make advanced search and filter functions even more powerful within Brandfolder.
View CDN Usage
Now you can track Smart CDN usage to anticipate future bandwidth needs for your organization. If you have Smart CDN enabled you can view CDN bandwidth in your settings and manage subscriptions via the CDN Usage section.
Brandfolder + Sitecore Integration
Brandfolder’s Sitecore integration allows Sitecore customers to use content in Brandfolder right from the Sitecore Media Library, where your assets can be searched, previewed, and published through the Sitecore Content or Experience Editors.

Guest User Permissions
Better control how guest and public users interact with assets and the information they see. Brandfolder admins can now disable cropping and hide custom fields, metadata, and tags for guest and public users in Collections and Share Links.
Brandfolder + Hubspot Media Bridge Integration
Embed assets from Brandfolder in Hubspot through Media Bridge. Now you can create on-brand customer experiences across channels all from your library of digital assets in Brandfolder. When you update an asset in Brandfolder, Hubspot will automatically reflect the new version wherever it’s linked.
Improvements to Share Links
Now you can freely add or remove assets to links you’ve already shared. We’ve even added the ability to track and get notifications when the assets you’ve shared are viewed or downloaded. So whether you’re a salesperson sending collateral to a customer or a marketer sharing brand content with an agency, you have better control of and insight into the assets you share.

Custom fields are a great way to track asset data that’s specific to your business. Now, we’ve added multi-value custom fields and prioritized custom field filters to make it even easier to find assets in ways that better fit how you and your team look for them.
Video Closed Captioning
When embedding videos across your digital presence, ensuring accessibility is critical. Now, adding closed captioning to videos is as simple as attaching the right SRT or VTT files to the video asset in Brandfolder.

Translated Sections and Labels

Now, Brandfolder and Collection administrators can upload translations for their Sections and Labels to make them easier to understand and use worldwide.
Figma + Brandfolder Integration
We’ve teamed up with Figma, a leading design platform made to allow teams to build products together. With this new integration Brandfolder and Figma users can access their Brandfolder of approved digital assets to easily build on-brand designs in Figma. After completing a design, you can even publish the final product as a new asset in Brandfolder.
Publish from Smartsheet
With Brandfolder and Smartsheet, combining the best of digital asset and collaborative work management makes the handoff from creative production to distribution seamless. Smartsheet and Brandfolder users can now publish completed assets directly from Smartsheet to Brandfolder.

Portals: Curated Content Experiences for your Brand
Portals are like a customizable homepage for your assets and are the best way for admins to curate specific asset experiences for any use case or stakeholder. Building Portals is incredibly easy and requires no technical prowess; the simple UI makes it easy for anybody to create valuable curated content experiences in just a few minutes with a click-and-drag interface.
ZIP and Sketch Thumbnailing
Brandfolder now auto-thumbnails ZIP and Sketch files upon upload. If the ZIP/Sketch file contains images, we will find them and use up to 4 to create a collage for the thumbnail. Auto thumbnailing helps keep your Brandfolder beautifully visual, while enabling quicker discovery of assets for your DAM users.
Multi Language Assets
Brandfolder is now more global ready than ever! Editable users (collaborators, admins, and owners) can now easily add and edit asset names, descriptions, tags, and custom fields in multiple languages. Consumers of a Brandfolder (i.e. guest and non-users) can then read asset details in their preferred language with a toggle in their View Options.
Available languages are configured in the admin settings. Then asset details in multiple languages can be edited at the individual asset level, to many assets at once with the bulk toolbar, or in batch mode with CSV Metasheets.
Download CSV Metasheets
Making bulk edits to metadata in Brandfolder is easy. With CSV Metasheets, admins and collaborators can easily select multiple assets in a Brandfolder and download them into a CSV file to make edits to tags, custom fields, asset names, and descriptions en masse.
Webhooks
We've made our Webhooks more robust with improved documentation for our API users. Webhooks enable monitoring your Brandfolder for change events such as creation of new assets, edits of existing assets, and deletion of assets. Webhooks can be used to seamlessly keep your other systems that are integrated with Brandfolder updated and in sync.
CMYK to RGB (and vice versa)
Brandfolder now allows non-designers to convert asset colors from CMYK to RGB and vice versa. The CMYK <> RGB feature helps eliminate asset requests for your designers. It also improves productivity for all users by not having to wait on a designer to download an asset, convert to a different color profile in complicated software, and reupload the asset for specific channel color specifications.
FTP Ingest workflow
With our new FTP Ingest workflow, users are able to quickly ingest large file sizes, and large quantities, from an FTP server directly into Brandfolder.
Admins can set up FTP connections from the bulk management section of a Brandfolder, and then set up rules to automate the flow of where assets should be placed upon ingestion – like Brandfolders, Collections, and Sections.
This workflow helps speed up and automate the ingestion process. For example, a photographer can shoot images and automatically upload assets from their camera, to Brandfolder, on the fly.
New: Request Download workflow
With the Request Download feature, admins can create share links where downloading assets is disallowed until the user requests access.
When Request Download is required, users are prompted to fill out a form, and the form then notifies the admin to the download request. Admins can either approve or deny the asset download request with reasoning as to why.
This new Request Download workflow helps automate the process of approvals and ensures all assets being downloaded are not only approved, but also on-brand.
Convert metadata into custom fields or tags
With the new Metadata Conversions feature, admins can set up rules to convert embedded and extracted metadata fields into Custom Fields or auto-tags. This helps automate the searchability of metadata and optimizes the ongoing management of your Brandfolder over time. These conversions apply to not only existing assets, but can also be retroactively applied.
'My Favorites' now 'My Boards'
Previously known as My Favorites, individual users can now gather groups of assets into Asset Boards, otherwise known as "My Boards." Boards allow for efficient organizing and super quick access to favorited assets from different Organizations, Brandfolders, and Collections.
Select the desired assets, click 'Add to: My Boards' within the bulk action bar, and locate those assets within the profile section of your Brandfolder.
New View Options
Users can now toggle between different view options for how they want assets to be displayed within a Brandfolder. View options are, also, unique to the individual, as well as different Brandfolders and Collections.
Different view options include:
- Thumbnail or list view
- Sort by
- Assets per section
- Show custom fields
- Hide empty sections
Print contact sheet
With contact sheets, users can now preview multiple assets in a clean layout view before printing. Contact sheets are a common need for photographers or editors trying to easily print multiple assets, while stripping away extra headings, text, and unnecessary shading.
Prioritize your Custom Fields
Now, Brandfolder admins with a lot of custom fields can select up to 5 to be prioritized or highlighted for their users in the bulk management section of Brandfolder.
Prioritized custom fields are displayed at the top of all custom fields listed for an asset within its modal, as well as on the thumbnail version if selected "show custom fields" in our new "View Options" button.
Comments & Annotations for enhanced workflow
Now, admins and collaborators can improve their efficiency by collaborating on assets directly within the Brandfolder platform. Instead of manually switching between tools, comment and annotate on the asset itself to save time.
And, Brandfolder customers can take advantage of the rest of our suite of workflow features for better collaboration–features like our Advanced Adobe Creative Suite intregation, approvals, notifications, and version timelines.

Marketers and creatives are constantly being told to be more data-driven, but you shouldn’t have to tackle the facts and figures alone. Check out the comprehensive, and custom, reports Brand Intelligence can run to put your DAM's benefit in clear, digestible context.
Collections drop down for quicker findability
New and improved! Now, admins and collaborators can search for Collections from within the Collections dropdown at the top of each Brandfolder. For those customers with thousands of Collections, this drastically speeds up the findability of specific groupings of assets – permissions still holding.

Suggested Tags
Tagging has never been smarter - Brandfolder’s machine learning now suggests tags for your assets based on other assets in your Brandfolder, as well as your tagging habits. Navigate to the asset modal 'Edit' tab to see it in action. The machine learning accuracy that drives this will continue to improve over time.
Asset Score is live!
Take the guesswork out of which creative assets are actually working for your brand. Asset scores help you to quickly understand the success, and potential success, of a piece of brand collateral.
Advanced Version History ⏮
Now you can see, download or revert to previous versions of an attachment. From the asset "Usage" tab users now have robust oversight into all the changes made to attachments, ensuring content is never lost.
Be Notified About Expiring Assets 🔔
Users who have downloaded assets with an expiration date will receive notifications that the assets will be expiring soon.
Replace Attachments
From the asset's "Edit" tab you can drag and drop a file (or browse for one) to replace the attachment. Previous versions of your attachments will remain stored in the "Version History" under "Status."
Contentful Integration
We love Contentful's headless CMS and you should too. Now you can easily utilize assets, imagery, and metadata inside Brandfolder directly within Contentful.
