Phantom Star Norm Lewis Will Host Broadway's 2014 Stars in the Alley Concert

The free show will take place before matinees on May 21.

Tony Award nominee Norm Lewis, who will soon don the mask of Broadway's Phantom of the Opera, will host this year's Stars in the Alley concert on Wednesday, May 21, in Shubert Alley. The show will take place before matinees, from 11am-12:30pm.

The free outdoor concert is a precursor to the Tony Awards Broadway stars, backed by a 12-piece orchestra, will perform selections from currently running musicals. Produced by The Broadway League, the concert will feature musical supervision by Alex Lacamoire.
Lewis received Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for his performance as Porgy in The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess. He begins his stint as the latest Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera on May 12.

Among the shows expected to participate are the four Tony-nominated Best Musicals, After Midnight, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, Aladdin, and Beautiful — The Carole King Musical, along with long-running favorites like Chicago and Mamma Mia!, and the upcoming productions of Holler If Ya Hear Me and On the Town.
