In the last few hours, the popular host and sports analyst Pat McAfee has been brutally trolled by fans due to a huge scandal he has found himself in. Currently, an 18 year old woman named Mary Kate Cornett has told The Athletic about the trauma she had to face because of what Pat McAfee said on his show, despite not taking her name. Now, here is everything one needs to know about Mary Kate Cornett and her life.
Mary Kate Cornett had just started a new life in college when she got involved in a huge scandal that reportedly had nothing to do with her
Mary Kate Cornett is a young woman who is just in her freshman year of college. She is 18 years old and is a business major student at the prestigious University of Mississippi.
Mary Kate Cornett has also been in a steady relationship with her boyfriend, Evan Solis, even though it is not confirmed how long the two have been together. Evan Solis also studies at the University of Mississippi with her.
Mary Kate Cornett’s parents, Justin and Mary Williamson Cornett, have stood up for their daughter and even spoke to TMZ in February about the trauma their daughter went through.
Until the Pat McAfee show aired on 26th February 2025, Mary Kate Cornett was a normal teenager who had just started a new life at the University of Mississippi.
But then, Pat McAfee discussed a controversial topic on his popular show, The Pat McAfee Show, and suddenly, Mary Kate Cornett was getting bullied in her college.
Pat McAfee never mentioned Mary Kate Cornett’s name on his show and yet the freshman has faced bullying because of it
On the 26th February episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Pat McAfee had ESPN’s Adam Schefter on his show as Pat discussed an unverified rumour that he had heard of on the internet.
However, Pat McAfee never mentions Mary Kate Cornett’s name on his show, but it seems like the students at the University of Mississippi believed it was Mary who was being spoken about on the show.
Recently, Mary Kate Cornett spoke to The Athletic and said, “I would like people to be held accountable for what they’ve done. You’re ruining my life by talking about it on your show for nothing but attention, but here I am staying up until 5 in the morning, every night, throwing up, not eating because I’m so anxious about what’s going to happen for the rest of my life.”
Neither ESPN nor Pat McAfee has issued a statement in reference to the scandal they have found themselves in.
Mary Kate Cornett has also issued a statement on social media a month ago, where she denied all the false rumours that have been spread about her after the show aired.
Fans have slammed Pat McAfee for discussing an unverified rumour on his show, which is watched by millions. An official statement from him addressing the whole controversy is awaited at this point.
