Last week we were excited to attend Beijing International Book Fair. Apart from welcoming colleagues, partners and guests to our busy booth, we also held an award ceremony, celebrating the “China New Development Awards”. Each of the ten winning books of the “China New Development Awards 2025” addresses one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with several focusing on current hot topics such as new energy vehicles, smart agriculture, artificial intelligence, point cloud compression, and quantum gravity. Notably, five of the winning books are published as open access, allowing readers to access them freely and without limitation, helping these important contributions from China reach a broader global audience. Congratulations to all authors!

As part of our commitment to sustainability and our communities, we were proud to sponsor the Lecture Series at Earthfest 2025, a four-day celebration of sustainability, innovation and community action taking place across the King’s Cross area. The Lecture Series was hosted just around the corner from our offices, and featured a wide range of talks and panels. Among the speakers was also Jack Leeming from Nature Careers. He gave an engaging presentation, sharing some of the stunning imagery from Nature’s #ScientistAtWork competition. Additionally, a blog from Joyce Lorigan on the Earthfest website highlighted Springer Nature’s role in the King's Cross community since the move to the area thirty years ago.
