Candiss (tantara) | 1207 comments Hello everyone,

It’s a brand new month, so we have two new books of the month to discuss. For December, you selected:

December Science Fiction: Babel-17 by Samuel R. Delany
December Fantasy: Cold Magic by Kate Elliott

There are a couple of starter topics up for each book, but please feel free to start more. If anyone wishes to volunteer to lead the discussion for either of these books, please let Stefan, Nick or myself know ASAP.

We also have our schedule set for the next couple of months:

January 2014 SF: The Lathe of Heaven by Ursula K. Le Guin
January 2014 Fantasy: Range of Ghosts by Elizabeth Bear

February SF: Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie
February Fantasy: Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence

For all our series lovers, a hardy group of members has decided to share a read of Guy Gavriel Kay's trilogy, The Fionavar Tapestry. If you are interested in joining in, head over to this discussion thread to find out more. The more, the merrier! Discussion of book #1, The Summer Tree, begins January 15th.

Lastly: Don't forget to drop by the What are you reading in December? thread to share your picks, pans and progress for the month!

Happy December and Happy Reading!

Candiss, for Moderators of Beyond Reality

Antonis (antonakis) | 43 comments Woohoo! I can't wait to read Range of Ghosts and Ancillary Justice during the next months!!! And I might manage to find time and join in the Cold Magic group read and discussion! I really like it that there's at least one great book to read as part of a group every month!!

Ken (ogi8745) | 1408 comments I bought Ancillary Justice for my ereader so I will make a point to read it before Feb.
My work offices have moved so I will be on Transit for a good hour or so each way so I will be able to get some reading in.
