First I want to say that I love the cover! And I didn't know that Lucy Connors is a pseudonym for Alyssa Day. I haven't read any of her other books, but I really liked this one. I liked the writing and the idea for this book. I love retellings and I especially love when an author takes a classic and breathes new life into it.

I loved the setting! A small town in Kentucky, where the MC can go for a ride on her horse and take in a view of the moutains. Makes me want to go there and see it for myself!

There was a lot of drama, but really you should expect that given the likeness this story has to Romeo & Juliet or the Hatfields & McCoy's. I loved the gritty and rough parts of the story. Drugs, shady dealings and a crazy family fued! Dangerous bad boy Micky and his brothers next to sweet and innocent Victoria.

I cannot wait for the sequel! I need it now! Makes me wonder if authors sit back and have smile an evil grin after leaving a book with a cliffhanger like this knowing what it does to us readers!
