I really liked how it caught you up on what happened at the end of the Nightshade series without dragging down the story and plot. The story was told from lots of different POVs this time around and one of them was difinitely a surprise!
The tension is really high in this story due to the pivotal events of how Bloodrose ended. I had always wondered why Bosque had such an interest in Adne and I serioulsy cannot wait to find out! Because of course this is a 3 book series and did you really think we would find out the $3 million question in the first book?? Yeah, no!!
But that's ok!! Because it was really good! Had me on the edge of my seat and biting my nails to the nubs! I'm so anixous about the sequel for the next book because I have all these thoughts in my head about what's going to happen next! And there isn't even a release date for it yet much less a cover! ...more

It has taken the story to a whole different level now! So I love Adrian, he's so funny and so completely sweet and affectionate even though Sydney doesn't want that from him (view spoiler)[ until she does!!! (hide spoiler)] Sydney's magical abilities are growing and there is a new threat to her now, an evil witch wanting to consume girls for their youth, beauty and magic. Marcus is an ok guy, he wants Sydney to find proof of something he's heard about, (view spoiler)[ the Alchemists and the Warriors are conspiring against the Moroi. There was only one detail as to what they wanted. Jill and her whereabouts. So why do they want to know and what would they do if they knew where she was? (hide spoiler)] So now she has to go break in to one of the servers in the Alchemists archives to get it.
The romance was so good too, I wanted Adrian to wear Sydney down so she'll let him kiss her again. He didn't push too hard(view spoiler)[ and he really didn't even have to. And then once she did FINALLY admit she had feelings for him and then give in to them, her sister Zoe is in her dorm room because Sydney called Stanton to inform her of the Warriors looking for Jill, so they send a new dhampir and Zoe as back-up. So now how is Sydney and Adrian going to keep their relationship a secret? I think they sent Zoe to spy on Sydney. She had Marcus break the compulsion in her tattoo and now she has to watch every word she says even more closely. She has to figure out a way to take out the Warriors and Alchemists before her tattoo starts to turn silver. (hide spoiler)]
At least Fiery Heart comes out Nov 2013, we don't have to wait that long. As soon as it comes available for pre-order I'm so getting it!!

I liked Lena again, even after what she did in Beautiful Darkness breaking Ethan's heart the way she did. And poor Link, I'd like to get ahold of Ridley and give her a good shake for what she did to him. I hope that John is really turned from the dark side now cause I like Liv too and she doesn't deserve her heart broken. I love this seies and I'm sooooooooooooooooo glad that I waited to read Beautiful Chaos with the most HUGEST cliffhanger in the history of cliffhanger I've ever seen, read or heard about, cause I have Beautiful Redemption waiting for me on my shelf YAY!!!!! :)...more

Lucas has been my favorite since the beginning and now I think he is a jerk, shame on him for what he did to Kylie. And Derek is sweet, he was really there for her when she needed a friend. I'm so sad for Kylie, everything she went through from normal teenage stuff to trying to get a handle on her abilities and what they all mean...BTW I think it's soooo cool what she can do even if she thinks she a freak.
OH!! C.C. Hunter you really know how to make a person sweat!! You know what part I'm talking about, I almost lost it, completely lost it!!! I can not wait for Chosen at Nightfall!!!!...more

I liked this I really wanted to read about Helen's story and how she found love also wanted to know how Evie and her sisters would beat the bad guys. I liked this book cause all my questions are answered and I liked the answeres, I liked the ending. Lynton is Helen's perfect match to be sure, and I did get a little emotional at the ending, at first I thought I was going to be mad but it turned out not to be a tragedy so it's all good. I only want one thing....now I want to read Velvet's story and see how she finds love so maybe there will be a new series for her, I can only hope....more

The only thing is I think that it should end soon, although sometimes I hate when a series ends I think it should before it gets stale and starts to drag on.
I really liked that Liz had abilities of her own to use against the slayers, she wasn't a damsel in distress waiting for Brandon to save her and she held her own pretty well. I hope there is going to be just two more, because I want Sloane and Thorolf to have their firestorms. And RCs or Reanimated Courpses are the scary ones, but don't infect you if you get bit, it just hurts really bad!!
One of the things I didn't like was some of the "issues" some of the unsettled had, like crawling out of your grave because you haven't seen a girl naked before was the only thing keeping you from going in to the light!?!?! They could have been a little more series is all I'm saying, but I'll probably read the rest of the series because I think that (view spoiler)[ Monica is really bad news and also the elders have something planned for Megan. The witches are strong women and don't put up with much from their men and there are some funny parts that made me laugh out loud. The men are sweet but as per usual they can be "daft" in every sence of the word. OK, so the book is from Kendra's POV most of the time because it's divided. First Kendra tells how she became a witch, it's a retelling of Hanzel and Gretel. Then the other stories from her POV are retellings also one is Little Mermaid and the other one is kind of spoiler so I won't let that out of the bag. Then there is the story of Emma and Lisett, Emma is a nice, smart girl and Lisett, well she is a piece of work. She is bitter, mean and spiteful.
I really liked all the stories, I like the way Flinn takes fair tales you grow up listening to as a kid and twists it and makes it her own, though at one point when reading I thought to myself that it maybe I didn't like it so much because of they way the story was going (view spoiler)[Warner and Lisett were making out and he calls her Emma and she gets mad, he says sorry and they go back to making out. My heart stopped at one point when the thing happened to Burnett...really had me going for a min there...and yes I did get a little teary eyed at the end and I wasn't even really attached to that character but Kylie was and it was really sad.
Finally we get somewhere with Miranda/Perry and (view spoiler)[Holiday/Burnett (hide spoiler)] YAY!!! And we learn what she is, not sure what to think about that, but ok I guess.

BuBloodrose ended the series on a happy note I think, the last 100 pages were a wild ride, fast paced and action packed I didn't want to put it down. But I couldn't really decide who I wanted Calla to be with (Ren or Shay) so I was happy with who she chose in the end and she chose who I thought she would have. But somethings happened that was very very sad and I cried like a baby and as I'm writing this I can't think about it cause I'll start crying again, I won't say what happened--trying to be spoiler free here--but it was very sad and I hate tragedies, whoever said that it makes a better story has seriously lost their mind. I thought he was a little arrogant and all he wanted from Ana was to get in her pants. And for Elias I thought he was sweet if a little old-fashioned, well let's just say my opinion changed for both of them. In Almost Final Curtain I found Nik to be a sensitive artist and Elias to be kind of strange LOL. Paul is smug and a snob, he's a bully. (hide spoiler)] The romance was tender, I was happy she picked the guy I like. The characters enchanted me from the beginning, Tess was my favorite besides and Cate and the guy she picked.
I was so enthralled with this book I couldn't put it down. The story was fast paced from the start and didn't stop to the very end. The Brotherhood is very oppressive and restricting, always looking for people to accuse of doing witchcraft. The Sisterhood is likely to be just as bad as the Brotherhood as they look to the sisters to help with teaching some of the girls about how to be seen and not heard.
Cate has to make a decision soon about her intentions for her future; marry someone of her own choosing, join the sisters, or she will appointed a husband, likely one that is as old as her father and has several children. YUCK!! All the while she is trying to protect her sisters from being discovered as witches, she made a promise to her mother...on her death bed no less...to keep the secret and her sisters safe. With everything that happens then to the end of the book, there is just soooo much, I can't even keep it all staight. All I know is I wantneed have to read Star Cursed, the next book cause although she picked the guy I liked, it was by no means a happy ending.

Briony (love that name BTW) has a lot of guilt, it's so heavy and all consuming, it really has a life of it's own. I love the comentary she has with herself, at first it's not very nice of course but in the end she sees her mistake and corrects herself, at times is sad and times are funny...that's the part I like.
The romance was so sweet, Eldric is this beautiful boy-man and he is funny, charming and just so so sweet. One of my favorite characters other than Briony and Eldric is Briony's twin sister Rose. She reminds me a little of Luna from Harry Potter with they way she talks only Rose may be a little bit more flaky, just a bit, but ever bit as sweet. I wished I could see more of Rose and Robert though, I didn't get enough of them.
The Swanpfolk people, they didn't have good grammer but that was ok cause I thought it added more to the characters. The Old Ones were a little hard to understand though, sometimes I had to read what they said a couple of times to get what they were saying. The mystery part I guess some it, but I couldn't see how it all played out til the end, it was a good book....more

My only problem with Witch Song was that Argyle didn't show the growth of the romance between Senna and Joshen, it was just he was handsome and then the next thing is she thinks she likes him, no butterflies or flutters until after she kicks him off the island. But I still liked it, I liked Senna's character, she was meek at first but grew into her strength, and Joshen love for Senna was so fierce I just wished he kissed her sooner. Also I liked that it was original, instead of using spells they are called witch songs and they use seeds to aid them, to help them fight and help with healing. And the bad witch is vile, evil and nasty, and the fight at the end is so David and Goliath, it was awesome. So there will be another book Witch Born and I can't wait to read it too....more
