This time around the story is about shapeshifting gargoyles and this was just the prequel! If the rest of the series is anything like this one it's going to be another favorite, without a doubt!
I really liked Jasmine's character! I was glad to see that she stood up for herself when Dez came home after three years and not one word from him! Really? He thought she would just accept him and everything would be sunshine and roses!! She said No! She wasn't going to 'mate' with him unless he met her conditions and he had just seven days to win her over.
Turns out Dez is pretty sweet and he knows how to make a girl swoon. I cannot wait to read the next book! Can't wait to read about Zayne, Layla and Roth, and how Layla is supposed the be the cause of the unrest in Hell! Yeah! I need to know how that plays out!...more

Maybe the next book will be about Nicholas because he found out he is compatible with someone...not saying who...but she had to take a little trip somewhere first hopefully she will be back in the next book. Or it could be about Joseph and that Slayer's sister Lyka, there are some new developments with the two of them, her secret is revealed to us not the men and the others, and he needs it cause he is starting to get angry a lot.
Still wondering how Grace is going to save Torr. And there is a new girl, her name is Beth but we don't know if she is just Gerai or Theronai or if maybe she can help Ronan and his kind. I can't wait to find out when the next book will be out and who is it going to be about.

Chen Yong and Ai Ling's journey across an the sea and into a new world was filled with unknown creatures and the tension between them was so thick you could scoop it up, top with whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry and have for desert. I would not mind even one bit if they found themselves on another adventure taking out more baddies. This is definitely on my favorites list....more

Loved the charcters, Natalie is mute from a trauma as a child...she saw he mother be killed...but despite her handicap she is strong willed and tenacious, Lord Denbury is dashing and valiant but at the same time he left me wary because some of his actions made him look like he was up to no good and finally Mrs. Northe is a kind and motherly woman helping Natalie whenever she can.
I liked the story line a lot, centered around Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, where a portrait of Lord Denbury seems to be haunted and Natalie is drawn to it/him. With Mrs. Northe's help she needs solve the mystery behind the painting and rumor of Denbury's supposed suicide and is put in danger herself. What I really liked about the story was that at the end there are no lose ends, all of my questions were answered except for one, What did the demon mean by a "society"? But I guess I'll find out in The Twisted Tragedy of Natalie Stewart, Nov 2012 isn't too far away thank God....more

Then when they finally did get there, they were blistering hot and frustrating at the same time cause one of them would put on the breaks.
Something very bad happens and Ellie remembers everything about her past lives but she doesn't remember being Gabriel. Something else happens that I thought would happen when I read Angelfire, if you've read it and have the same suspicions that I had then you know what I'm talking about...sorry about being cryptic but I'm trying to be spoiler free while also putting things I'll remember for when I read the next book. Moulton writes these parts so well I actually think I'm right there with Ellie and feeling everything she's feeling, but I hope the next one only the bad guys die!! I can only hope right? Yeah I don't think it will go the way I want, it never does, as long as Will and Ellie don't die I will be ok, I hate it when the lovers die in my favorite books.
Will is heroic, gallant and gorgous as ever. Ellie is goofy and witty as she kicks butt too!! We meet some new reapers Ava, Marcus and Sabina I was leary of them as I always am cautious of new players in the story, I'm not so much now, but I'm not sure I trust them fully yet. So I guess we'll see what happens when the next book comes out, should be good, Moulton doesn't disappoint. And a HUGE cliffhanger at the end, I need to dive into another book so that I can forget about this one for a while cause if I don't I won't make to 2013.

Also didn't expect what happened with Galen he didn't seem like himself to me, maybe that was because of Legion, after what she did to him she changed him a little maybe I don't know but he wasn't as ruthless as before. Also Ashlyn has her babies, finally!!!
I thought this book was the most funny out of all of them so far, lots of teasing with Sienna and Paris. And Showalter always seems to make everything work out in the end, even with Sienna being dead, or is she undead? And no matter how the couple in the book fight each other the wind up being perfect for each other in the end, she makes it all work. It was kind of long with having to rehash events that happened in previous books but sometimes that's is a good thing cause if you don't read it right when it's released at least Showalter gave us a good update on those events to remind us. And then Kane and Torin are the only ones left, though those demons have the worst attributes out of all the Lords so I don't know how Showalter will do it, but then again she makes writing look easy so I guess we'll see and the new series Angels of the Dark should be good and I wonder how it will all come into play with the Lords, also curious to see if this series is going to be like the Lords and each book is about a different angel, looking forward to that....more

Ai Ling reminded me a lot of Mulan, she is very strong and has a big heart. She set out to find her father after he left to go to the palace, he said he wasn't going to be gone long and would be back soon. After 6 or 7 months with no word from him she goes to the palace to find him, along the way she has many obstacles to get past, she also meets Chen Yong who is on his own quest to find out about his birth parents. Don't want to say anymore than that afraid there will be spoilers, this is the kind of book that its secrets are best to find out by reading them not being told someone second hand.
I didn't really like the way it ended but thankfully there is a sequel and I look forward to reading it....more

I have to say I like The Infernal Instruments better than The Mortal Instruments, but I'm still tied up on Jace and Will. What can I say I love a tortured soul and those two boys are for sure.
Still not sure on what Tessa is, Shadowhunter and Demon? But that isn't supposed to happen, all offspring from Shadowhunter and Demon are stillborn. At least we know what Will's problem was and why he needed Magnus' help. So he could summon the Demon that put a curse on Will that no could love him or they would die, so he was always mean to everyone.
And what is the deal with Starkweather?!?! It seamed like he took a liking to her when they went to The Institute in York. But then in the end at the Council meeting afterwards he asked her if he had harmed her. Did that mean when he offended her when he showed her the spoils from his kills from Downworlders or when during the Council meeting there were these machanical beetle things and one had come eye level with her but didn't do anything and she caught it in her hat and Henry smashed it. Could he be in league with Mortmain? I wouldn't think so but he is a bitter and senile old man so anything is possible.
Now Will's family is messed up in this mess too. They are living in Mortmain's childhood home. And then at the end Cecliy comes to The Institute in London to announce that she wants to be a Shadowhunter?!?! I smell a rat and her name is Cecliy. What better way for Mortmain to make even more trouble but to have corrupted Cecliy into being a spy for him or he is treating her with the lives of her parents if she doesn't spy for him.
And Jessie a spy?!?! And MARRIED?!?! TO NATE?!?! I did NOT see that one comming. That one blindsided me like an 18 wheeler going 80MPH!! I'm so conflicted about that whole thing. Poor Jessie to she deserves what she gets. She thought Nate loved her and she didn't want to be a Shadowhunter. And then she should have know better Charlotte and Henry took care of her most all of her life why would she do such a thing? Now what will happen to her?
And Jem and Tessa engaged? *BIG BIG SIGH* I like Jem, he is sweet and kind and I can see where Tessa could love him, and looking at the cover of this book, uh yeah I could see that. But she isn't supposed to be with him, she is supposed to be with Will!!! And my fear is...and I hate to say it or even think it...but I think Jem will die in The Clockwork Princess, cause he already gonna die cause of that drug. It always happens, authors always kill off the favorites. He will probaably sacrifice himself for either Tessa or Will, and I will probably cry cry CRY!!!! *SIGH*
And can't forget about the Lightwood's and Sophie. Gideon and Sophie, first I thought he was spying for his dad. I admit i'm still a little suspicious. And EWWW!!!! Benidict Lightwood just EWWWW!!!!!!

And I had a feeling about Tod, I even asked my neighbor about him (cause I got her to read them too lolz), and she said "but he's dead" but I knew something would happen between them. And I"m not quite so mad about Sabine and Nash now, but I gotta say I hate love triangles, but this one was different for sure with Tod in the mix so it wasn't the same old same old. I kept expecting Thane to come back like he made a deal with Avari cause he wants Kaylee"s soul so bad, so i wonder how he will come into play in Before I Wake, what chaos will he create. So I really really liked If I Die it was awesome....more
