My Muted Love opens with a guy by the name of Ashton Spencer. Ashton receives a request from his mentor to step in for him and complete an assignment. Yet, it's at the mention of Tori McNabb's name that readers become acutely aware of something. SUDDENLY, it's as if you know that this woman (Tori) left an imprint on this man (Ashton). It was all in his reaction, silent but impressionable all at once. While the book starts off in the present, it's not long before it shifts to the past. Soon readers are up close and personal with how our two main characters meet.
Tori McNabb is struggling when she gets to Blakewood State University. Any little thing seems to set her off and boom she's ready to throw it all away. Some tough love...well actually, I don't know if I can call it that really. So let's go with, some harsh words from a mentor keeps her planted at BSU but staying comes with a price.
Tori must put in the work and get in the ring to show why she's there in the first place. At least in her mind, she has to and if I'm honest others are thinking the same thing too. It's not easy though and overnight it appears that BSU's star athlete takes it upon himself to be the one that will make her or break her at BSU.
"You're one of them." "One of who?" "One of them welfare recipients. The new student who didn't earn their way to BSU, but got here by way of the pity train." -Ashton to Tori
The Bad Humans Clique: That's the name Tori gives them. 'Them' being the rich, black Beverly Hills 90210 humans at BSU. They're mean, they think oh so highly of themselves, their generational wealth is worn like a badge of honor and because of that wealth things in this world come more easily to them.
Tori, a total badazz in the boxing ring finds herself on the wrathful receiving end of the bad humans, of which Ashton Spencer is the leader. Ashton is the big man on campus. And let me tell you, this guy is a handsomely smart, all American Division I star quarterback and clear NFL prospect. He knows it. Tori knows it. His pretty, skinny, equally rich girlfriend Aivery knows it. The whole damn school knows it. Knowing it is one thing but with Tori however, she could care less about all that. The girl is focused and no bad humans are gonna stand in her way.
Just when things are going well there's a shift. One I was NOT expecting at all.
Ashton: O. M. GEEEEEEEEE. Listen to me, you will not like this guy. Or maybe it's just me. *shrugs* Whatever, believe me when I tell you he will only soften you up just to piss you back off again. Overall, he grew on me and I'm eager to know more about him. I sloooooowly fell for Ashton. I consider him to be the perfect blend. He has that old money proper vibe mixed with a little hood. As you read the book you realize his background has provided him life experiences from both worlds. This works well for his character, which for me is a big plus cause honey I like them with a touch of hood!
Tori: Tori. Tori. Tori. * Blows out air from my mouth in exasperation* My feelings are mixed when it comes to her. Not really a fan to be honest. Then, I spent most of the book feeling bad for her only to feel a little played by her as the book ends. Do I still feel bad for her? Yes, but that's circumstantial at best now. *narrows eyes in contemplation*
Yeah...I need more intel on this chick. I thought I had her figured out somewhat and now I'm thinking maybe I don't. However, I can admit that Belvin did leave me some slight clues along the way that eluded to certain things within her character complexity.
The character I'm most eager to learn more about? Why NormaJean of course. Her entire being in this story is somewhat jaw-dropping. I can already tell from the snippets of her we received.
The character I would love to see Tori knock on their a$$? Aivery. Gosh, I hope it happens. LOL!!!!
The character that surprised me? Tori. My section titled Tori: explains.
Fave Lines: "Bitch got a name" - Tori "You're a real Panther now, Nabby-girl"- Ashton
Series: Yes, this is book one in a three-book series. Book two is due Summer of 2020 Recommendation: Read the book! Though this is a romance, romance does not really play a big part in this book in my humble opinion. It kind of flies beneath the radar in an obvious way but does not overtake the book. Again, that's in my humble opinion. Plot/Storyline: Belvin has the worlds of two focused athletes colliding in an unexpected way...especially when it leads with them being athletes as certain common ground. The story is somewhat emotional for both lead characters. Two extremely different people of the opposite sex are clashing at pivotal points in their lives. Writing: The writing was good, characters are laid out well, and readers will definitely want more. Hopelessness was a theme to a degree but not on overload to the point you feel bombarded by it. The two mains are NOTHING like what I expected them to be and I'm ok with that. I can't wait to see where this story goes.

I know this review looks long but trust me I barely s❤️Love In The Red Zone❤️ Spoiler Free Review
Love In The Red Zone is indeed a 5 STAR READ!
I know this review looks long but trust me I barely scratch the surface. I LOVE LOVE LOVED THIS BOOK! Believe me when I say that a 5 star book is dangerous, well at least for me they are. 5 star reads will have you emotionally spent, that's exactly what this book did to me. I don't give up that 5th star easily, however Love In The Red Zone straight up stole the 5 stars right out of my hand! These characters, their stories and their relationship totally got the best of me. And I... I NEED MORE JADE & TRENT!
Trent Bailey was a superstar quarterback for the Connecticut Kings. A conviction takes that status away when he is sentenced and spends 18months in jail. Two years later and the only field time Trent gets is when assisting a friend that coaches a pee wee football team. It's while assisting the pee wee league Trent meets Jade Matthews...
Jade is a young mom struggling to make ends meet. Pretty much struggling just to keep a roof over her and her son Kyree's head. Right when everything starts to close in around her she receives a helping hand from an unlikely source.
This unlikely source aka Trent lives a VERY private life. He basically goes against all of that to help a young mom and her son. Both are uneasy and unsure about their arrangement. Regardless of their uneasiness they push forward and make it work. Not much time passes when Jade starts to see Trent in a different light. She's attracted to him, decides that she wants him and goes above and beyond to win his affection towards her.
Meanwhile, things begin to fall in to place for Trent. His desire is to get back on the field and the path to do so is placed right before his feet. He has the discipline, the physique and the determination to do it. Almost simultaneously the new woman in his life positions herself as well. Only Trent is not exactly ready to fully accept her.
'Yeah, she was on hard times now, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t sniff out a baller for milking.' Trent's Inner monologue
Jade and Trent come together in a wild fiery raging passion. The problem is, while Jade puts herself out there with her heart on the line, Trent continues to hold back. His past has him in a place where he finds it hard to trust people. I should note here that he is upfront about his trust issues.
But Jade, homegirl is a fighter and she claws... I mean, she seriously fights for Trent, claiming her position at his side. His reaction to her tactics...LOL! And yes, this chick is tactical with it. His reactions make me smile and love him even more.
My Thoughts Jade- I think readers will fall hard for this couple! I loved Jade she was smart, fierce and skillful at getting what she wanted. Which was Trent and you know what I can't blame her cause I'm digging him myself. She was jealous, possessive, protective and I loved every second! I wouldn't really consider her a manipulator because once it was made known to Trent that she wanted him she went on in such a manner with not just getting him but keeping him. More importantly she was real about it. And I think this made her twice as endearing to me.
Trent- I like that Trent was smart. He was not one who's quick to fall for the okey doke. He did however fall for Jade quicker than I thought but was a bit slower to reveal his heart to her. He had moments or confession moments I should say where he kept it real with her. But he was never one to put it all out there on the line. He held back some, not naturally though, it was more out of his inability to trust anyone. Because believe me Trent came through when necessary for Jade, no doubt.
The writing I think Belvin did an excellent job with layering her characters. It's part of her style. Not only to layer them but to show their growth as well. It's truly a strength in her writing that honestly not many can pull off or balance very well. The story carried weight. The characters, even some secondary characters had meat to their bones as well as some skeletons in the closet. The sex scenes were pure F I R E.
Sidebar: If you're a true fan I'm sure you enjoyed the great appearances made by Love's leading characters from previous books.
To buy OR Not to buy? BUY! Go 1click! Series: Yes, this is book 1 in The Connecticut Kings Series. Story/plot line: Well written. Well defined story and characters. Pulls you in from the very beginning. And when it ends you still want more. Recommendation: MUST READ! Steam Factor: On a scale of 1-10 I say hands down 10 it was on point!
Now go forth and read, then come tell us what you thought about it! If only just a few words, reviews are important to authors....more
Have 911 on speed dial because this wild fire spreads fast. Things heat up between Connecticut Kings beauty exec Cole and their hot wide receiver Jordan. However, Cole tries to control the flames, much like she does everything else. It works at first but not for too long, because just like a raging fire, Jordan is not really one to be controlled. “Nicki,” I said, without even thinking about it. “I want Nicki.” -Jordan
Jordan Johnson Jordan aka JJ is the star wide receiver for the Connecticut Kings. He's six foot five inches, two hundred thirty pounds of extra dark chocolate coated muscle *YUM* He's one of the best in the league. Best known for his wild ways as well as his sharp wit tongue. JJ admittedly has a lot riding on this upcoming season, he needs to win. Like every other player, his sights are set on the Super Bowl. My man wants a ring! When a chance at love presents itself other things begin to shift in his life too. But don't get it twisted he still wants that ring!
“I didn’t realize you were the jealous type, Mr. Johnson.” "I’m not,” he insisted. “I’m just… possessive. Or something.” -Jordan and Cole
Nicole Richardson Cole is Assistant Director of Player Success for the Connecticut Kings. She's also the daughter of the owner for the Kings franchise. Cole is beautiful, intelligent, determined, competitive and strong willed. Working in a male dominate field I'm sure plays a big part in her focus driven character. Not one to be easily outdone by her male counterparts, Cole's presence alone garner's respect from her colleagues. Which only goes to show just how good she is at what she does.
As romantic feelings for Jordan surface she calls an audible. She sets rules and with good reason, in my humble opinion. Hesitant to put her reputation along with her heart in a position to get hurt; Cole makes a decision that Jordan needs to agree to before they go any further.
(audible- Change in the offensive play called by the quarterback at the line of scrimmage.)
What I liked No, it's what I loved, I loved Cole's relationship with her father. I liked the dynamics in which he genuinely yet diligently groomed her from childhood to be all she can be and then some. Although surrounded by males Cole was allowed to THRIVE in her purpose.
What I disliked Jordan's father. That dude had some major issues. I'd love for Ezra to get a hold of his butt. LOL! No seriously, he needs help.
Thoughts This is a fave for me from Jones. It also has a mention of one of my other fave heroine's from her ❤️Nubia❤️ As well as two characters from a previous book that I enjoyed! I won't name them I'll let it be a surprise for her fans. The Writing was strong. She had great leads and great secondary characters adding that spice to an already delicious story. So who's next? Will we be getting more? I hope so! I'm leaning toward Sanchez mm..maybe I don't know seems like he and Presley have a little something something.
To buy or Not to buy? Buy!! Series: Yes, this is book 2 in The Connecticut Kings series. I suggest reading in order. Recommendation: I recommend to alllll romance lovers! Plot/Storyline: Very well done. I love a good second chance romance and Jones NAILED IT! Writing: Strong, Sensual with characters that grow before your eyes. Especially Jordan. Steam factor: On a scale of 1-10 I say 9. Yeah, it was fire!

I enjoyed The Deal, its that classic read where boy asks girl for tutoring and because of who he is he thinks he’s got it in the bag ONLY he doesn’t. Girl turns boy down and boy is persistent so he refuses to take no for an answer. Because boy is smart he pays attention to what catches the girls eye and devises a plan to make them both get what they want ONLY it backfires. Now boy really wants girl and he has to prove to her that she wants him too!
‘Something’s happening to me. I can’t stop kissing him. He’s too addictive. And even though this might have started with me somewhat in charge, I’m no longer in control.’ -Hannah
My Thoughts I saw a friend post a small excerpt from this book on facebook and it had me laughing so I immediately went to 1-click! Garrett and Hannah clicked from day one even though it comes across as irritation on her part… In my opinion she was the yin to his yang from the start!
Why the book worked for me I got dual points of view I got some cute sexy times The lead was a fun strong heroine The male lead was cocky yet had his sweet moments Despite the male lead, Garrett being coveted by the campus female population Hannah was able to resist a lot longer than I would have ;) And last but not least, there was a splice of darkness tucked in the story and still my two leads are victors!
Overall, I thought the book was fun, fast paced and gave great secondary characters. I look forward to book 2, The Mistake!
My Ratings Characters- Sweet, Sexy with tons of witty banter Writing Style- Good Plot/Storyline- A deal is struck between Garrett and Hannah in order to help Hannah catch another guys attention. Only Garrett decides he wants Hannah alllll for himself! Steam Factor- Lo-Med-Hi I say High, On a scale of 1-10 I say 7.5 Entertainment Level- On a scale of Lo-Med-Hi I would say HIGH, I was very much entertained! Overall- I L O V E D IT!!! … I can’t afford to let Forbes see me lose my cool 3 STARS out of 5 This book is rated ‘C’ for Common Run of the mill Genre: Mature YA Romance
[image]
… I can’t afford to let Forbes see me lose my cool with this guy. “By the way, you’ve got something all over your ass.” I twist my upper body and grab the bottom of my dress, pulling it around for inspection. “What is it?” “Hot new guy’s eyes.” She laughs. “Sorry . I had to. You walked right into it.” I normally find her jokes and banter entertaining–– until they’re aimed at me.
In Going Under good girl Claire catches the eye of her schools new student Jesse Boone, a transfer from Collinsville a not so nice part of town. Jesse has a rep for being a bad boy, he’s also an athlete with his sight set on becoming Franklin High’s new quarterback which would have him replacing Forbes Henderson…Claire’s boyfriend. Things become dicey when Jesse decides to use Claire to get at Forbes escalating the rivalry to on and off the field. Problem is Jesse has no clue that Claire is playing a game of her own.
My Thoughts This was a sweet mature YA that held a twist I did not see coming until it was upon me as I was reading the scene. The writing was along the lines of common. It held a YA formula and stuck to it; NOT bad just common. The characters did not really stand out in anyway. We had Claire the rich girl, good girl, VIRGIN, the good student, with a smart mouthed pretty best friend. Then there was Jesse the bad boy, from the wrong side of the tracks, under bad parentage, looking for a way out through sports and hopefully with a gained scholarship.
While the book never strays far from the basic YA formula in terms of characterization nor did it with its plot lines it still managed to keep my attention. I found the characters sweet and endearing. I thought each had a great dose of witty banter which was nice. Overall, I liked it! And I recommend it to YA lovers looking for a sweet quick read!
My Ratings Characters- Fun and Sweet with witty banter Writing Style- Fair Plot/Storyline- Stayed with the YA Formula. Good rich girl VIRGIN falls for the bad boy. Oh and her boyfriend is a total douche. Steam Factor- On a scale of 1-10 I say 6 This is mature YA Entertainment Level- From Lo-Med-Hi I say Medium, it held my attention Overall- I liked it! Review [image]
Learning she was going to be a mother her senior year of college was not part of the plan for Kate, but life has a way of throwing curveballs at you. And that is exactly what happens to 22 year old Kate Camden when she learns she is pregnant. Knowing she will have to do this as a single parent does not deter her and she moves forward with the help of her mother. However when life dishes out a devastating blow coping with the pain seems…unbearable. Kate crosses paths with Jason ‘Ryke’ Ryker a professional NHL player at a bereavement group. Ryke notices Kate immediately and is drawn to her instantly wanting to reach out and comfort her.
‘I wished for words to soothe her, but I didn’t have any.’
He feels her pain and understands what it means to experience a loss that makes you feel like your world has come crashing down at your feet.
When Kate mentions that she is need of a job Ryke offers her one which she declines..at first. Becoming the personal assistant to Ryke has her now in a one on one exchange with him day in and day out. There is no way Kate can ignore the fact that Ryke is gorgeous and for the first time in a year she is attracted to a man. But she does because she needs this job not a new relationship. A friendship quickly takes root as they tip toe around the obvious. Something everyone can see but them. Ok well maybe they do see it. No, let me rephrase that; they more so feel it.
The attraction may be hard for either of them to deny but how can they be what the other needs when pain still resides inside both of them.
My Thoughts I love when a book is not even on my radar yet I somehow come across it, read it and thoroughly enjoy it. That unfortunately does not happen often for me so this was definitely a pleasant surprise!
Rothert did not shy away from tragedy, death and how it affects people. How can one move on from a life altering tragedy? Is handling it all alone the best way to try and deal with it? Is opening up to a room full of people who share a loss like you easier to do? Can you ever find happiness again? All of this is explored in Bound.
Writing wise the author was careful as to not allow death to take over the story completely. You will get a ton of angst and some good laugh out loud moments.
My Rating and Why I gave Bound 4 STARS because I felt the story kept my rapt attention allowing me to finish within a day. On top of that readers get dual pov's which is key for me. Love LOVE getting inside the male head. I also like how the author kept the characters true to life by not having them jump at the insta-lust they felt. Instead there was a slow build along with a getting to know you period to their friend/relationship. Readers are given a competent heroine who knows she is not ready to jump in to a sexual relationship even if it’s a romp to satisfy a lustful craving. I consider that refreshing now days.
My Ratings Characters- Sweet and lovable Writing Style- Sincere, Favorable with touching moments Plot/Storyline- How to cope with loss, and how to let love back in Steam Factor- Medium/Moderately Steamy on a scale of 1-10 I say 6 Overall- I enjoyed it and I definitely recommend it to romance lovers!! God, who was this man? To work her over in six different ways and then stop because he wanted to look into her eyes? How was it possible that he was out there, undiscovered by some other woman? Dylan pulled him into her and held his face between her hands, kissing him slowly, sweetly, to let him know how much it meant that even in the middle of his pleasure, he remembered to see her.’
By day Dylan is a legal assistant at a law firm and by night she is currently studying for her LSAT’s so that she can get in to NYU Law School. A phone call from her best friend has her put studying on the back burner. Dylan never thought that attending a party with her best friend Ava would change the course of her life as she knows it.. But it does. Because the night she put studying aside for a party is the night she meets Mark Acosta. And according to the New York Daily News “The Rookie” referring to Mark, was set to be signing a contract with the Mets very soon.
Mark makes sure he get’s Dylan’s number and an easy friendship takes root. He is very upfront with her about the fact that his time is limited. With that said Dylan does not have high expectations in fact she continued to live her life as usual all the while being friends with an up and coming baseball star.
WAIT. Did I mention that he is HOT AS HELL! He’s described to be 6’2 with a deep dark caramel complexion, well built but not to beefy with eyes black as coal framed by long lashes and smooth velvety eyebrows. OH plus he is Dominican and speaks Spanish during sex. *GRINS* Can you say HELL YES!!
“Have you been thinking about me?” he asked, lowering his voice. His willingness to put himself out there and say things as frank as that got her, every single time. Dylan was pretty damn sure she had never met anyone like Mark Acosta before, and may never again.
She can sense that Mark may want more and yes they are dating but she continues to live as if she was single. After all they are not in a relationship even if it seems that way at times; it is not until he speaks of them being exclusive that she accepts their relationship as such. Things progress pretty quickly after that, they move in together and soon after they are engaged to be married.
Now married to a newly signed Mets baseball player Dylan finds herself in an exclusive club as a baseball wife. Having no idea what that means really she is now in a world of affluence, where money can buy anything; clothes, jewelry, cars and homes all around the world. Sometimes money can change people; it can be a quick or a slow process. With Dylan it happens gradually over time. That girl studying hard to obtain entry to law school starts to lose herself in the world of materialism.
Dylan’s husband Mark is not a flashy guy; in fact his life style does not change even though his bank account has grown tremendously. He notices the changes his wife is displaying and he questions them however Dylan is good on…distraction. He is aware that money can change people but that’s only if you let it.
When things go from BAD to very VERY BAD, Mark questions her as a person, as a wife and her loyalty. Is it to him? You’ll have to read to find out ;)
This is The Seduction Of Dylan Acosta.
My Thoughts I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK! I said it before and I’ll say it again, Nia Forrester has become one of my FAVORITE authors! She has a very unique writing style, I call it exploration. In this book she takes her characters on a journey that is very true to life, temptation, ones we can all relate to. Money and how people act to getting it and those around them with money when they are not use to it. She explores their relationship as husband-wife. She is BIG on characterization, which I like, A LOT.
Forrester also explores the choices made by her characters and the resulting consequences whether it is good or bad. So for instance what motivated them to act/behave that way? Is the person easily influenced by others? What were his/her feelings behind the action? Yeah *grins* I really dig her style. She never asks these questions out right, instead it is addressed within the story, in the monologue.
My Rating and Why I gave this book 4.5 STARS because I loved the story, the characters and the writing style.

REVIEW
Because I need to know. I need to know how she feels and what she wants from me, from this. If she wants to be MORE THAN THIS. ~Jake
Prom night should be one of the best nights of your teen life right? Well, that is not the case for Mikayla. For her prom night becomes the night her life forever changed; in more ways than one.
‘I look over at the cute brunette and wait for a reaction. I feel like I should leave, like what I’m witnessing is too intimate, too personal. But my feet are locked to the floor. I have no idea why, but I can’t look away. I can’t walk away.’ ~Jake
Jake and Mikayla meet under horribly embarrassing circumstances, nevertheless they bond and by the end of the night whether they realize it or not they are tied to each other for life.
I spent the beginning of this book an emotional wreck. At 3% I was steaming mad. At 14% I was happy and laughing my ass off. At 17% I get hit right in the back of my head with a sledge hammer. It hurt…It hurt so damn bad.
As Mikayla tries to reassemble the pieces of her life that are left she becomes close to Jake and his family. A guy who barely knows her but now holds her fragile heart in his hands. Moving on is not easy yet she slowly does and Jake is right by her side. Mikayla quickly learns that Jake is, The Jake Andrews, an all star baseball pitcher and predicted to go pro.
A very close friendship blooms between them; at times it is so intimate that I felt like I was intruding on all the moments they would share. Jake is careful not to push her in to something she is not ready for. But he wants her. B A D. Not just sex either. He wants her. All of her.
And she wants him too. All of him.

The intensely burning chemistry with these two makes for some very steamy angst filled moments!
‘Nothing like a mind blowing orgasm to keep a goofy smile on my face. Oh. My. God. Jake. Fucking. Andrews.’ ~Mikayla
‘We’re looking so intently into each others eyes, trying to see into each others souls. Talking without speaking. Feeling without touching.’ ~Mikayla
‘I’m two seconds away from exploding and I warn her but she won’t. fucking. stop.’ ~Jake
‘He kisses away the tears that have fallen all over my wet face. Then he looks at me, really looks at me. And then his lips are on mine, and my eyes close because the sensation is so overpowering.’ ~ Mikayla

Fave scenes(without any major details)
-After prom the bon fire...
-Every scene with Logan...
-The letters...
-The Prince in a Flashback of a young Mikayla being told a story by her mom...
My Thoughts The story is told in dual pov so we get inside both Jake and Mikayla’s head which I must say is a true pleasure. READ THIS BOOK! You know you’ve struck gold when a book can make you Happy, sad, laugh out loud, swoon, then cry all in the first 20% of reading. The charactersJake is a total alpha. You best not look and you sure as hell better not touch his girl because he won’t hesitate to whoop that ass. He is also loving, tender, sweet, understanding and patient with Mikayla. It is as if he was exactly what she needed and vice versa. And yeah, he’s kind of a big deal! Mikayla this girl goes through so much yet she is still standing talk about recovering from a lost. After losing so much you can barely breathe. She is just..WOW. Smart, funny and no idea how beautiful she is, inside and out! I gave these two a pass for not being able to communicate all of their feelings. Which can be frustrating for readers. They are both 18, so I feel as though characters under age 22 get passes because they most likely have not had the chance to be in more than 1 long term relationship yet. Even with my pass they fared well. Insecurity was the biggest issue with these two.
The secondary characters will not only catch your attention, they will leave you wanting more. Mainly Logan, the guy is freaking hilarious. I think for me the best part of the secondary character roles are played by the parents. The parents carry a strong presence in this book. Major thumbs up for that Jay McLean!
Dear Megan,

The ending, no cliffhanger… BUT even though we get a sweet epilogue, readers will still get a nice little twist at the end. This twist will leave your jaw on the ground. Trust me. Because even though you could have predicted it… So much goes down in the book that you forget about it until its right in front of your face on the page. It is literally the last sentence of the book...
My Ratings Characters- lovable, witty and charming Writing Style- Fair, there was excessive usage of slang and a few editing issues Plot/Storyline- Strong it will grab you from the first page Steam Factor- High/VERY HOT Overall- I LOVED IT! ‘One thing I know for sure and have come to terms with– I’m the school slut. I hate that word; but sometimes it is what it is, or in my situation, I am what I am. I like guys, all kinds of them and lots of them. College has been the perfect setting for being able to meet so many. Since I have no desire for a relationship whatsoever, I sleep around. Sleeping with one guy consistently is too permanent.’ ~Em

LOL! I cannot be the only one who heard that song while reading. Am I?*shrugs*
Ok back to my review
Beautiful Broken Rules is a fun sexy New Adult read with a nice spin on role reversal. Emerson Moore is the school slut (her words not mines) She does not do boyfriends and she has pretty much sworn off love. Sound familiar? Because I swear the guys I read about in books all seem to live by the words
“I don’t do love”
“I will never fall in love”
“Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for FREE”
Oh and let’s not forget this one
“I never hit the same honey pot twice”
The male characters I love live by these words as if each phrase is the male national anthem or some shit. WHAT. EVER. My girl Emerson has her own rules to live by to make life easier…
[image]
That’s right, she likes to play boys but you can only have her for a limited amount of time. 3 rounds and your OUT, this way nobody's feelings get hurt once playtime ends.
And everything is going well until she meets Jaxon. A guy rumored to be the male version of her. Jaxon oozes sex appeal without even opening his mouth. That cocky grin alone will have your panties in a twist. Jaxon just moved to Cali from Texas and is attending the same school as Emerson on a football scholarship. He’ll also be her new neighbor! Can you say HELL YES!
Jaxon meets all of my bad boy criteria’s
-He’s a TOTAL ALPHA -He's intelligent -He rides a motorcycle –He has a voice that can drop panties –He has a body built for sin –He has a tattoo –He plays football(athlete)
*Screams* TOTAL PACKAGE! I mean really what more can a girl ask for! *le sigh*
[image]
Emerson and Jaxon dance a nice slow tango with flirty twist, cocky turns and witty banter filled dips, where each of them takes the turn at lead. Jax knows her rules and he is willing to dance along. That is until he realizes he wants more. Unfortunately Emerson fights being more than friends tooth and nail. Her past showed her that love is nothing but pain, secrets and heartache.
She has been able to do her thing so why risk the chance of hurting someone, or being the one who ends up hurt. Logical thinking right? To bad the heart wants what the heart wants.
When her best friend Quinn notices a change in Emerson because of Jax; she tells her to give a relationship a chance.
“Just the fact that you care enough not to hurt him shows me that maybe you can handle one.” -Quinn
Em nixes that idea with the quickness.
“I don’t want to handle one…” -Em
Jax does not give up though and Em starts to catch feelings but just like she knew it would secrets, pain and heartache follow.
The chemistry between Jaxon and Emerson is H O T!
The sex between Jaxon and Emerson… HOT!
‘We were grabbing at each other like we needed to be inside of one another, as if we needed the other one to breathe.’
[image]
“Tell me that you want me,” he whispered. “I want you.” Always. “Only me?” “Only you.” Had there ever been anyone else?
All steam aside I really enjoyed this New Adult read, essentially all Kimberly Lauren did was take the man whore concept we all love and flip it. And guess what? IT WORKS! She gives us great secondary characters that pull you in even more, a sweet secondary love story and the promise for a book 2 most likely featuring Jace, which I will happily read!
My thoughts Overall this was a fun read and I look forward to more work by Kimberly Lauren! I recommend this to all of my friends who enjoy a good NA read!

Remington RIPTIDE Tate is #1 in the underground fighting circuit girls wanna scew him and guys want to be him. Brooke allowed her best friend, Melanie, to talk her in to going to the underground matches. As Melanie screeches her love for RIPTIDE, Brooke can’t help but be pulled into his magnetic force field of high electric energy. And she also can’t stop the fact that after one look from Remy she now desires him just like every other woman in the building. Of course she chooses that moment to flee.
After making quick work of his opponent Remy goes after Brooke. Melanie overhears the introductions and gives Remy Brooke’s number. Much to Brooke’s dismay. Dismayed no more, Brooke is unemployed at the moment and Remy not only offers her tickets for his next match he also follows it up with a job offer. She accepts.
She wants him and he wants her but before he has her, he must tell her the truth.
Can Brooke accept the REAL man who is Remington RIPTIDE Tate?
First let me be clear I did like this book, I will not sit here and act like Katy Evans did not get my panties all in a twist over Remy because she did. Had my ass wanting to hump something like a damn dog in heat.. No lie.LOL!! Remy put out some good swoon worthy vibes. I mean HELLO how can you not when she writes things like
'My legs wobble, and I’m left with the distinct impression this man wants to pound me next. With his cock.' ~Brooke
'He suckles, sucks, turns, twists. I fall in love with his kiss so fast, that soon I don’t know where my hands are, where I’m lying. My entire body is consumed by the way he fucks my mouth until my lips are raw and swollen and it hurts to kiss him back even though my frenzied body demands more.' ~Brooke
And then words like mind-blowing pleasure bolts
My arms clench around his strong neck as he teases the very tip of his finger inside, and a mind-blowing pleasure bolts through me. ~Brooke
I mean COME ON we all want to be sucked-fucked-plucked-twisted- bound-gagged and pounded into, right?!! Oh..wait may be that last bit is just me*shrugs shoulders* WHATEVER you get my drift! *wink, wink*
I’ll start with what I did like The anticipation and build up to Brooke and Remy having sex had me horny as shit. I'm talking jump your man as soon as he walks in the door, HORNY. Now not everyone is a fan of the clenching uterus… Well it bothered me none. I was in deep deep anticipation and was pretty much panting until they sealed the deal. I think Evans did a good job of building up that climax and hit it out the park once the deed was done. – I also enjoyed Remy and his alpha glory – I adored the scenes where they swapped iPod's and played each other music that was so damn cute!!! – I agreed with his decision to wait until after Brooke knew about his…condition for sex (view spoiler)[ He is Bipolar (hide spoiler)] - My fave scene was the one with the roses. No denying that was pretty H O T and there was nothing sexual about it.
What I did not like so much was - Brooke and all her damn muscle terminology - Brooke and her stupid brain fart moment with (view spoiler)[ Scorpio. (hide spoiler)] – Brooke's lusting became a bit repetitive along with her internal monologues. I am BIG on character interaction and this chick was in her head a bit much for my taste buds. It just made me want more Remy. - Remy going from 0 to 60 in a millisecond was crazy and may be accurate.. but what’s the deal with him not remembering things… Is that accurate?? I need to look that up(thinks to self..) - The entire plot with Brooke’s sister Nora fell flat for me. If anything I wanted to see Remy KICK DAT ASS. The whole Scorpio setup was to predictable. I don’t mind predictable but like I said it just fell flat for me.
OVERALL -I’m clearly in a very small minority here…so here is the deal, while I may have enjoyed REAL and all that is Remington RIPTIDE the fact of the matter is the story did not move me. And that is why I gave it 3 STARS. Believe me I love an alpha male just as much as the next girl, however I just found that the story itself did not take me to that place of being forever etched in to my brain. But whatever, it seemed to do that for mostly everyone else. Surprisingly, or maybe not so surprisingly, I loved Remy yet did not connect with Brooke. Go figure.
My Ratings Characters- Loved Remy Writing Style- Good, I actually like Katy Evan's style it was the story that I was not overly excited about. Plot/Storyline- Fair Steam Factor- High/Very Steamy Overall- I liked it, I just did not love it! Now go forth and read. Then come tell us about it on Goodreads! ‘When I went off, the sky was the limit. No, that wasn’t true either. When I went off, there was no limit and when there was no ceiling above you, there sure as hell wasn’t anything soft to catch you when you fell.’ ~Georgia

Parties, Sex and Drugs was her life up until the day she woke up in a hospital bed. Georgia King is trying to come out of the darkness that once swallowed her whole. She is currently living with her brother, Matt, who is one of the coaches for the Philadelphia Flyers. When a team trade is made Georgia learns that they will be having a new house guest. Ben Lancaster.
'I felt his energy. It slid across the room and enveloped me whole. It set off all kinds of things inside me and for the first time in a long time, something stirred. Something hot. Something wicked and sensual.' ~Georgia
[image]
Ben sees her. Wants her. Must have her. There is definitely an insta-lust attraction between Ben and Georgia. An attraction that Matt warns Ben to steer clear of, or else. Of course he doesn’t listen. Ben is no punk though, and Matt point blank telling him to keep his hands off his little sister goes in one ear and out the other.
Matt is not only warning Ben he also let’s Georgia know that Ben is off limits. He can't afford for her to mess things up like she's done in the past. Ben Lancaster has a bright NHL(National Hockey League) future ahead of him. Georgia’s track record with guys is not good and the last thing Matt needs is for her to take down his most talented promising player.
She brushes off his warnings, she tells her brother he has no need to worry she won’t touch Ben. What she keeps to herself is the fact that she is scared. She has caused a lot of destruction and was not looking to add to the list of lives she has ruined.
‘It would be tragic for me to ruin someone like Ben Lancaster, and that’s pretty much what I did. I ruined things. I ruined people. I was my mother’s daughter through and through.’ ~Georgia
[image]
‘Secrets are heavy. They’re heavy and they’re hard and sharp and they suck. They press into your chest and make it hard to breathe. They make it hard to sleep or relax or just to be…’ ~Georgia
Tug of War She loves him but fears he will leave once he knows her secrets. She fights with whether or not she should tell him. She knows that when she does confess all he’ll run in the opposite direction. Being Bipolar is not something to take lightly, if not handled properly she could endanger herself and those around her.
‘There was something about Matt’s sister. I couldn’t put my finger on what it was exactly, but it was there. Some invisible ‘thing’ she had, an energy or state of being.’ ~Ben
Ben is not looking to score with puck bunnies. He has his eye on one girl. His pursuit of Georgia is not in vain she cannot fight his charm or the irresistible pull that slowly encases her being the more they get know each other. Especially after he tells her he would like to take things slow after she practically threw her vagina at him willing him to catch it, kiss it, lick and get all up in it! Eventually he does and let me tell you it was H. O. T. These two went at it like the earth was empty of people and it was solely up to them to repopulate!
Things move along pretty smooth for these two but Georgia’s still has yet to tell Ben that she is Bipolar. With both of their hearts on the line now is the time to tell him.
My Thoughts READ IT! One of the best things about this book is that it did not have a cliffhanger and let me tell you that was a breath of fresh air! Finishing a book without leaving readers feeling suspended in the air should be the new trend! Authors take note... I CANNOT WAIT for book2!!
The writing was excellent and the story was excellent!
I fell completely in love with these characters Georgia and her emotional tug of war to be honest with Ben, and her war with being Bipolar. As a reader I could feel her internal struggle, Bale did an AWESOME job at describing it. Georgia would often reference to it as plates shifting…sorta how the plates beneath the earth shift when the earth quakes. I was always waiting for that 8.0 quake to happen and I think she was too. Matt- was fiercely protective of his sister and scared of what would happen if she didn’t take her meds. His life changed a lot after taking Georgia but you could understand his love and need for his sister to be healthy. Ben- Poor Ben had no idea what he was getting in to. He saw a girl, he knew she was different, he knew she had a secret but he also knew he wanted her. He was sexy and every bit of a gentleman. I LOVE ME some Ben!

Okay, I'm going to try and review the book now that I've gotten how I felt out of the way.

'Four years together, and I still felt every kiss all the way down to my toes. He had a gift, and I wasn’t shy about accepting it.' ~Lucy
Dreams really do come true Lucy and Jude have come far in the past four years, and it was far from easy. The book kicks off with Jude being drafted in to the NFL. Finally he’s got the girl, his dream job and the means to keep them living comfortably. Lucy is definitely happy for him but she Is also scared. She is aware that money can change people, with Judes hefty seven figure contract her fear is escalated.
What exactly is it that Lucy fears? Is it losing Jude? Or is it losing herself? This chick was a wreck.
Coast to coast Jude is in sunny California for training camp while Lucy is in New York taking a summer class. Loneliness has her asking Holly and little Jude to move in with her. Meanwhile she finds a summer job working for India’s brother, Anton. Anton is very up front with his desire to explore his feelings for her. And Lucy is very honest about the fact that nothing will happen between them. Too bad Jude sees her in a…compromising position.
My Thought Unfortunately this book did not work for me for a number of reasons. It was clear that Lucy and Jude loved each other but it was also clear that they never discussed their future. How is it possible for Jude to NOT know Lucy wanted to travel the world as a dancer. Can you say lack of communication? He wants to marry you that is clear –She says yes -He gets drafted in to the NFL –All she can think about is dancing not planning a wedding not trying to at least be on the same coast as her man whom she claimed to love WHAT THE FUCK? Lucy had too many issues. And I do not think the book easily conveyed them. I get that she is a young woman trying to find her place in the world. But something else was lurking under the surface. Fear. And instead of just saying that she acted out like a damn child. - She was sad Jude bought a new truck - she was not really excited about him being a millionaire even though he earned the money might I add Then she was mad when he bought THEM a house. The guy could not win. The only thing I did understand was her wanting to be independent by earning her own money. Problem is the man you love is willing to do anything for you. He was willing to stop playing football after his 3 year contract was up so she could live her dream out and dance. Can you believe that shit… THAT’S LOVE.
Overall I thought the story was very lack luster. Compared to its predecessors it can be classified as average. Jude came off as a controlling cave man. Lucy was just an idiot who failed to express herself properly. After reading a few chapters you get the feeling she was trying to find her own way in the world. But every time she tried to explain it to Jude it came out all messed up. I know I would have liked this book more if she was able to explain her future plans better. Jude was straight forward, she was his future EVERYTHING he did included her. Lucy was all me me me. You know what screw it I can’t even talk about this any more.

Everybody's like, 'He's no item. Please don't like him. He don't wife 'em, he one nights 'em!' ~Lyrics Jay-Z . After reading this you will never be able to look at a quarter the same way again. AND YES I am referring to currency that totals twenty-five cents. "Your my game changer, you know that?" "Game changer?" I shook my head unsure of the meaning. "The one girl who changes everything, the one you'd give it all up for." He brushed his thumb down my cheek. "I don't want you to give everything up." "I know that. But here's the thing about baseball, Kitten. There's an expiration date for every single one of us that plays and we all know it. Eventually my baseball career will come to an end, and I can live with that, but I can't live without you." ~Jack and Cassie
I fell hard, HARD for Jack Carter. This man had me wrapped around his pinky. And then he crushed me, and I broke into a million tiny pieces that scattered away the second the wind blew. **sighs heavily** Why Jack?? Whhhhyyyy?!??
In The Perfect Game Cassie Andrews a photography student in her Junior year in college meets Jack Carter the school star athlete. He is a baseball player. A pitcher with a fastball that has scouts lined up to watch him play. He is also known as a man-whore on campus. A man-whore who has never slept with the same girl twice. When Melissa, Cassie's best-friend and roommate sees Cassie spot Jack. She puts the brakes on and asks Cassie to promise her that she will steer clear of him. Cassie promises...but it doesn't hold weight. Jack zero's in on Cassie and her constant rejection spurs him on. He wants her now and he won't stop until he gets her. And he does...he gets her. Annnnndddd then he... Breaks. Her. Heart. Thoughts I loved him. I hated him. Then I fell for him all over again. I enjoyed this book it was filled with lots of witty banter between Jack and Cassie, and with Melissa and Cassie. Melissa was an excellent best-friend she kept it 100% with Cassie and never ever said things to placate her or the circumstances surrounding Jack. Jack was the epitome of a bad-boy and he played up to that role everyday of his life.
Both Jack and Cassie had parentage issues that effected them deeply. And this showed in their actions often. This book takes two unexpected turns. One felt out of place yet the author used it to her advantage. For one: It showcased Jacks alpha male 'I will kick your ass' side. For two: You really began to see through his macho male ego that he truly loves and will do anything for Cassie. The second curve ball thrown was not unexpected but was still SHOCKING and pretty much drove me insane. I will not say more for fear of saying to much. I will say that I got my HAPPY ENDING!! **claps hands** Fave new word Craptitude
"Way to ruin a perfectly good moment with your craptitude" "Craptitude?" He mocked. "Yeah. Your crappy attitude." Fave Line "It cost fifty cents every time you touch me. Don't do it again." ~Cassie This is a fave line because Jack is sure to use it to his advantage... In ways you would never imagine.lol!!!!!

Not sure who thought to classify this as YA, there was nothing YA about it. This is not something you read in YA. Examples below
'His finger slowly eased out and back in and I thought I was going to die from pleasure.' -Eva's inner monologue
"Your so wet. So hot." -Cage
"I want inside Eva. I want inside so damn bad." -Cage
" Oh, God Eva," he groaned as he slid slowly out then back inside.
Ummmmmmm, yeah, so not so much YA if you catch my drift. Not that i mind in the least i like my YA with a little spice but all the sliding and thrusting caught me a little off guard. Anywho, i read this whole series just to get to this book i am not a huge Abbi Glines fan however this series has won me over i am excited that Cage and Eva will soon get another book. Yes, book #5 is their next book so i am super hype about this revelation! While it last was very steamy and had alot of laugh out loud moments. We get to see some of our fave characters in the series like Marcus, Low and Preston. Ok so maybe these are my fave characters.lol! Preston's book is next and i can't wait. Am i the only one who noticed he has a thing for Amanda, Marcus's little sister?!? Hmmmmmmm.... I recommend this to all YA Romance lovers over the age of 17!
Now go forth and read. Then come tell us all about it on Goodreads! My Ratings Characters- Lovable Writing Style- Good Plot/Storline- Good Steam Factor- High/Very Steamy Overall- I totally loved it!!!...more
