If you’re internally screaming: “I WANT TO READ A BOOK THAT MAKES ME F*CKING FEEL SOMETHING!”
…This is 100% that book. I sobbed, I laughed, I swooned, I was angry, I was overjoyed, I cried some more at all the love, & I laughed again… this truly made me feel ALLTHETHINGS.
I will NEVER forget this book. Ever. My Stars, it was brilliant; It was eye opening, earth shattering. And such a good witchy October read. It was absolutely stunningly written. I truly know I will come back to this book again & again.

There’s a NEW QUEEN of ROMANTASY IN TOWN!
“I would beg,” he murmured. “For you, I would. You have fucking destroyed me, Oraya. Do you know that?”
Welp; This BOOK has ruined ME. Mother, help me. I. AM. RUINED. I am TRASH for this story, trash for Raihn, trash for Oraya… I haven’t read about a heroine this Truly STRONG in a LONG time… in fact… Oraya kind of reminded me of Aelin. I couldn’t put my finger on it while reading, but this book evoked feelings in me that I haven’t been able to feel in a LONG time. Feelings that the Throne of Glass series, actually, made me feel, and that, I promise you, is a statement and a promise, that means so more than words alone could ever, EVER, express. That series was the one that made me FINALLY find the ability to read again after four years without reading, after becoming chronically ill/disabled. As an avid reader, those years were a worse experience than I can, or want to, talk about. It’s not easy. So honestly, that is the highest compliment I could ever possibly give.
Mother, my hands are SHAKING after reading this. It made me cry, it made my blood burn, it was fire, it was tender, and boy, was it brutal.
My heart feels so very broken, and so very full of love all at once.
If the blurb sounds like your cup of tea, do NOT hesitate any longer; READ. THIS. BOOK.
I have been obsessed with/ enraptured by Carissa Broadbent’s prose & storytelling, in all aspects, since reading Daughter of No Worlds, and was expecting good things, but could’ve NEVER imagined she’d up the ante this much!
Do yourself a favor, grab this on KU, and slide into a world of vicious vampires, one vicious human girl, a quite creative brutal tournament to the death, and GODDESS, SO MUCH MORE....more

Another brilliant book, their sophomore novel, no less(!), written by the incredible Andrew Joseph White! They never fail to write incredible, terrifying, horror stories with profound insight into important topics, and do trans rep, autism rep/neurodivergent rep, & queer rep such amazing justice!
Thank you SO much to Peachtree Teen via NetGalley, & Andrew Joseph White for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!...more

And why do wartime romances hit me SO HARD ?!? This was SO FREAKING ROMANTIC I CAN’T! & The fantasy/ fantastical elements/ magical realism of it all were just amazing as well.

Another magical, adventurous & delightful read from F.T. Lukens!
One thing I love so very much about F.T. Lukens is that there’s always a promised HEA. Their novels are always lovely, chaotic (in the best way), & entertaining. I love that I always know I what I am getting into— A WONDERFUL TIME !
I have to say, this may have been my favorite so far ! The character development was fantastic & the MCs were on a long trail of disaster after disaster with even more magical mishaps at every turn…
“…that was as close as they were able to get because I took off running. They weren’t going to catch me. I was the motherfucking Gingerbread Man.” [Quotes may not be in the published version of this novel, they were copied from the advanced reader’s edition.]
This book was an absolute joy to read and the relationship between our two MCs Rook & Sun was *insert heart eyes emoji here* and queer! (wooo we love the LGBTQIA+ rep! Not to mention Sun is non-binary, and on the neurodiversity spectrum as well, as you will be sure to notice in the book though I don’t recall it ever being mentioned, besides Rook respecting it! Anyway we love all of that beautiful rep!), and charming AF! The relationship between the two “rivals,” as they are each apprentices of a sort to rival witches— Antonia, and Fable (who is also non-binary— thank you for all the NB rep, Lukens ☺️). The rivalry between Antonia (a city sorcerer) & Fable (a cottage sorcerer), I honestly think, was rather entertaining, and obviously a problem to overcome for Rook & Sun.
“I ignored them. It wasn’t mature in the slightest, but I didn’t know what to say. I’d chosen magic. I’d always choose magic. That wasn’t the question. But it had been nice to have a friend. To have someone who liked me in return. Someone who, despite my prickliness and social ineptitude, had kept trying. Most people gave up. Even my sisters didn’t fully understand.” [Quotes may not be in the published version of this novel, they were copied from the advanced reader’s edition.]
I also just have to say that when applied to real life, that particular quote speaks volumes to me, and truly means the WORLD, as someone who has AuADHD, anxiety, & bipolar II (depressive bipolar)… which getting a little personal: (view spoiler)[in regards to this, I’m speaking up & saying sometimes I majorly fail socially, causing miscommunication, or a need to not talk at all, or sometimes just ramble & don’t make sense at all, which obviously affects friendships as a whole, greatly. I can have the best intentions, and be genuine AF, but somehow still manage to screw things up royally? There’s more to that, and I think some people are just wired to assume that you’re being negative when you’re simply trying to COMMUNICATE, and boy do none of my illnesses help THAT sort of situation…) So this quote… just means the world. Knowing I have those sorts of friends in my life that understand as I sometimes fumble through life… well, they change everything <3 (hide spoiler)]
Magical hijinks ensue (which should be a TM for Lukens ...more

Bahhh sappy romantic me loving all the queer love. Literally tears running down my cheeks right now.
I absolutely LOVED the sapphic rep & the myriad of LGBTQIA+ reps in this novel! This novel was so achingly honest, & didn't hold back; It felt so REAL; so RAW. I don't know, i'm just so incredibly moved by this gritty, yet SO ROMANTIC story. Ruby & Morgan seemed just so incredibly real to me, like they could be people I know in real life. This novel really is something special. The tale of Ruby & Morgan is pretty damn epic, in all of the most realistic, amazing, messy, & beautiful ways.
Dugan did an absolutely fantastic job with this one!!!

First of all, I am so incredibly impressed with H.E. Edgmon; They are certain to be a force to be reckoned with in the YA stratosphere after this amazingly fantastical YA queer fantasy DEBUT ! YES. THIS WAS A DEBUT. Can you believe it?! Because you could've fooled me!
Honestly, this book was JUSTTTTT... utter, & complete perfection. The fantasical as hell, dark fantasy, 'portal writing' style atmosphere was just SO perfectly crafted. The LGBTQIA+ representation & how it was presented really just blew me away. The world building blew me away. The character development blew me away. The PLOT blew me away. The humor had me doubled OVER! The romance was perfect! Having a gay trans WITCH as the main character was just UTTER PERFECTION in and of itself. PURE Brilliance, especially because the MC, Wyatt, is one trans witch you most definitely have NOT met before. This book is so incredibly original, it is just brilliant!
In fact, EVERYTHING about The Witch King blew me away. The fact that LGBTQIA+ representation was so very present and never looked at as something 'other,' but instead, completely normal (because it IS), is exactly the type of rep I love to read, & many authors have TRIED to write a world where this seems truly natural, but few have succeeded in the way that Edgmon has! They have expertly crafted an environment where sexual & gender identity are simply that & readers of all identities will feel at home within this, again, *DEBUT* & I feel that this book is one that so many people absolutely NEED to read, for this reason (amongst just about a million others ...more
