SunTrust named Atlanta United Academy kit sponsor

SunTrust announced a multi-year partnership on Thursday to become the official bank of Atlanta United FC. The details of the agreement state that the company will become the Atlanta United Academy's official kit sponsor. The agreement also includes advertising, branding, promotions, signage and appearance opportunities, including the upcoming Atlanta United Academy tryouts.

The main concern to most supporters is the kit sponsor announcement. While we await the first-team's kit sponsor which will be revealed later this year, this news will have to hold us over.

"We're thrilled to announce SunTrust as our club's official banking partner and jersey sponsor for the Atlanta United Academy," Darren Eales president of Atlanta United said in a press release. "This partnership aligns with our approach toward building a world-class academy program, as well as our club's commitment to giving back to the community."

SunTrust was also announced as a founding member of Mercedes-Benz Stadium last year. It appears as if they'll be heavily invested in the club's youth movement with their Academy. This summer will be all about getting the Academy up and running and SunTrust will apparently play a big part in helping do so.

"Arthur Blank has already put together a very strong team of professionals off the field, and we know they are in the process of building a first-class squad to compete on the field. This partnership will provide us unique opportunities to enhance the financial well-being of all associated with Atlanta United, and encourage individuals to join the onUp movement to financial confidence."
