Badhaai Do fame
Chum Darang was announced as a contestant on Bigg Boss 18 during its grand premiere last night. This isn’t the first time that a contestant from northeast India is a part of the show. While sharing the stage with superstar Salman Khan, Chum conveyed her intention behind entering the show is to familiarise the audience with her roots and culture.
But it looks like the struggle starts for her from the first day itself.
The tension began when Shehzada made a controversial remark implying that Chum, who is from Arunachal Pradesh, is not Indian. This deeply offended Chum, who is seen angrily confronting Shehzada over the comment. However, Shehzada stood his ground and responded with equal intensity, escalating the heated exchange.
Prior to this, after her entry Chum Darang was seen interacting with the contestants and being nice and honest with everyone. However, things turned disturbing when Shehzada Dhami, Avinash Mishra and Tejinder Singh Bagga started mocking her name. Shehzada was seen making fun of Chum's name. Shehzada was repeatedly saying that her name is just Chum... then Avinash said that no... the full name must be something, but Shehzada did not believe it and said, 'Hey, it is Chum only.' Then Chum Darang comes out and tells her full name.
Not only this, Shehzada was also chuckling and telling Avinash how he liked the clear skin of people from East India. While Chum didn’t hear it she innocently replied how the healthy food of their region helps them get such skin.
