The Trump organisation has launched a new US mobile service and a smartphone on Monday (June 16), called Trump Mobile. Similar to other Trump-branded ventures, the all-new T1 Mobile uses the "Trump" name under a trademark license. The handset carries a price tag of $499 and runs on Android 15 operating system. Responding to the news, London-based smartphone company Nothing CEO Carl Pei has shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) writing: “Phone (3) has some competition now”, adding “We’re cooked”.

The announcement came on the 10-year anniversary of Trump's 2016 presidential campaign launch. The venture was unveiled by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump at Trump Tower in New York. Announcing the new mobile network and smartphone, Donald Trump Jr. – the eldest son of US President Donald Trump said: “We are going to be introducing an entire package of products where people can come and they can get telemedicine on their phones for one flat monthly fee, roadside assistance on their cars, unlimited texting to 100 countries around the world," said the president's eldest son”.

Trump Mobile will release the T1 Phone in August, priced at $499 (around Rs 42,893) with a $100 down payment. The gold-colored smartphone boasts a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 50MP main camera, 5000mAh battery, and runs Android 15. The device features 12GB RAM, 256GB expandable storage, and includes both fingerprint and AI face unlock security.Marketed as "designed and built in the United States," the T1 Phone targets customers seeking American-made alternatives in a market dominated by foreign manufacturers. The smartphone industry sees over 60 million annual purchases in the U.S., with nearly all devices manufactured overseas.
