Google Maps has rolled out a new feature for the
iPhone users. With this new feature the navigation app simplifies the process of saving places. Google Maps users on iPhone can now directly save locations to their Google Maps by scanning the screenshots. The feature now removes the need to manually search for the locations users captured while on the go or while searching the web.
How the Google Maps feature works
The feature leverages Google's image recognition technology to identify location details within a screenshot.
When a user takes a screenshot of an address, a map, or a location within another app, Google Maps can analyse the image and extract relevant information. The app then prompts the user to save the location, which is added to their saved places within Google Maps.
This new Google Maps feature was initially announced in March and it streamlines the way users interact with the navigation app. The feature now prevent the hassle of switching between the Photo app and Google Maps.
By automating the saving process, Google Maps reduces the effort required to organize and access location data. This is particularly useful for users who discover new places through social media, messaging apps, or websites and want to quickly save them for future navigation or exploration.
