Hailee Steinfeld is glowing in newlywed bliss—and she’s not holding back when it comes to sharing the intimate moments from her May 31 wedding to NFL star Josh Allen. The “Sinners” actress tied the knot with the Buffalo Bills quarterback in an elegant outdoor ceremony at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California, and in the latest edition of her Beau Society newsletter, Steinfeld gave fans a heartfelt glimpse into the big day—including one rule she was happy to break.
Why Hailee Steinfeld couldn’t stick to the ‘no-seeing-the-groom’ wedding rule
Traditionally, couples avoid seeing each other before the ceremony, but for Hailee Steinfeld, the idea of waiting felt impossible. “I don't think I could've gone the whole day without seeing him!” she wrote, explaining that she and Josh Allen began their wedding morning with a quiet breakfast at 7 a.m., enjoying lemon ricotta pancakes together. This small break from tradition turned out to be a powerful emotional anchor before the whirlwind of their day began.
The decision adds a deeply personal and modern touch to a day otherwise rich in classic details—blending sentiment with authenticity, something many contemporary couples may find inspiring.
Hailee Steinfeld’s gown made her feel like the most beautiful version of herself
Designed by Tamara Ralph, Steinfeld’s wedding dress was a breathtaking blend of sophistication and romance. The corseted gown was paired with a long tulle veil, sheer opera gloves, and Mikimoto pearl earrings. “On our wedding day, when I put on this dress, I actually lost my breath,” she shared.
“I've never felt more like myself and more beautiful.”
The couture piece came together on a tight six-week timeline, following a fitting in Paris just after the Sinners premiere in London. Steinfeld credited her glam team and designers for pulling off what felt like a dream come true.
A magical celebration from vows to afterparty
Allen wore a Tom Ford suit and, according to Steinfeld, looked “like the man of every dream I've ever had.” Their emotional ceremony, set under a romantic white canopy and filled with roses, led into a vibrant afterparty complete with grilled cheese, a DJ, a cigar bar, and a pool jump by the bridal party.
Steinfeld ended her note saying, “Now we're back and it's been a whole 13 days of being married, and we'll be staying on this high forever!”
