This year Holika Dahan will be celebrated on March 13, 2025 and Dhulandi will be celebrated on March 14, 2025.
The festival represents the victory of good over evil and that's the reason people perform puja on Holika Dahan. They perform various religious and spiritual activities but on the day of Holika Dahan, Puja Muhurat holds a great importance as the puja can only be performed during the auspicious Puja Muhurat. This time, Holika Dahan Puja will be impacted by Bhadra as Bhadra will be there whole day. Holika Dahan is on March 13 in 2025, and as Bhadra will end around 10: 33 PM so it is advised that Holika Dahan should be performed after 11:25 PM, after Bhadra has concluded.


Why Holika Dahan Is Avoided During Bhadra Kaal Time?


According to the scriptures, every auspicious deed carried out during Bhadra will result in bad luck. It is also believed that, Ravana once carried out Yagna during Bhadra, which ultimately caused his demise. Bhadra Mukha is considered very dangerous, and the most unlucky phase of Bhadra as "Mukha" (face) phase is linked to destruction. According to the Vedic tradition, it is strictly forbidden to perform Holika Dahan while Bhadra is present. This ensures that the ritual is performed at the right time for prosperity and happiness.

The perfect time to celebrate Holika Dahan?

In order to avoid Bhadra, Holika Dahan should be performed at Pradosh Kaal, which is the evening after sunset. But in case Bhadra is present at that time then the ritual should only be carried out when Bhadra Tail (the final portion of Bhadra) is active or when Bhadra is not there.
