Vivek & Chandini to headline a thriller film on fertility fraud

An upcoming anthology thriller, titled Trauma, directed by debutant Thambithurai Mariappan, will have four actors — Vivek Prasanna, Chandini Tamilarasan, Poornima Ravi (of Sevappi fame), and Prathosh — in the lead roles.
Speaking about the film, Thambithurai Mariappan says, “The film is about fertility fraud and revolves around three distinctive storylines involving a young woman who is very affectionate towards her father, an entrepreneur who is deeply in love with his wife, and two thieves trapped in a dire situation. Their lives meet at a crucial point, forming the core plot of the film.”
The crux of the film is based on a true event that happened to one of his friends, shares the director. “I have adapted the story to fit the cinematic narrative. Through this film, we also want to highlight the importance of adoption as well as the complexities surrounding fertility treatments,” he states.
The film also stars Ananth Nag, Marimuthu, Nizhalgal Ravi, Vaiyapuri, Ramaa, Namo Narayanan, and Saivam Ravi, among others.
