Shubman Gill claims he has been single for over 3 years amid dating rumours with Avneet Kaur: 'I have never met that person in my life'

Indian cricketer Shubman Gill is used to making headlines, sometimes for his cricketing brilliance, and other times for his personal life. Over the years, his name has been linked with several celebrities, most notably Sara Tendulkar, daughter of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. At different times, rumours also tied him to Bollywood actresses Sara Ali Khan and Avneet Kaur. But now, Shubman has finally set the record straight.
Focused on his game, not dating
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the 24-year-old cricketer candidly addressed the constant buzz around his love life. Shubman revealed that he’s actually been single for quite some time. "I've been single for over three years," he shared. "So many speculations and rumours link me with different people. Sometimes it's so ridiculous that I would have never even seen or met that person ever in my life."
Shubman admitted that he often finds himself surprised at how far these stories go without any basis. Laughing off the wild theories, he added, "I would be hearing rumours that I'm with this person or that person, and I'd be like, 'What?'"
Career over companionship
Speaking about why he’s not prioritizing relationships at the moment, Shubman explained that his demanding schedule leaves little time for anything beyond cricket. "I'm so focused on what I need to do in my professional career. There is no space in my life to be with someone like 300 days a year. We're constantly travelling. There's hardly any time to invest in a relationship," he said.

For years, Shubman and Sara Tendulkar’s friendship (and their frequent Instagram interactions) kept the rumour mills running. Sara was even spotted cheering for him during matches, fuelling speculation about a possible romance. However, neither ever confirmed or denied the buzz. Recently, reports suggested that Shubman and Sara had unfollowed each other on social media, sparking fresh breakup rumours, though neither commented publicly.

Adding to the whirlwind of speculation, Shubman was also recently linked to actress Avneet Kaur. Social media was abuzz after Avneet was spotted in Dubai during one of Shubman's matches, with some reports claiming they had been seen together. However, there’s no confirmed evidence to support these claims either.
