1x1 polls
In spite of his busy schedule, the versatile actor's passion for writing has not taken a backseat and he has penned three articles on the Mumbai carnage.
When quizzed about his latest flick he shared that it was the 'hideous script' revolving around the concept of modern marriage and its dark moments, which made him sign the film. He accepts swapping his role with that of Irrfan Khan's, as the role did not appeal to him. He says, "My character in the movie is quite unlike my real self and that is what had attracted me to play that role and I am happy with my performance in it."
Talking about his upcoming projects, he shares, "I am currently shooting for Japanese Wife which is slated for a release next year. Then there is The Whisperers, which has been released abroad. I am waiting for its release in India." He is also excited about another romantic comedy of his - Exchange Offer, Conditions apply. As the conversation veers towards his directorial project, Moth Smoke, he says, "It's too early to talk about it as the shooting for it would start by November next year."

We change the topic and start talking about his second passion - rugby. He tells us that he has taken official retirement from the sport after May this year although he still plays for international tournaments every now and then. We wonder how he manages two careers at the same time. He ends all speculations by saying that there is no harmony between the two and that every game of rugby threatens his movies and career. He adds, "It is the most violent sport in the world and requires a lot of physical strength. There is a great risk involved in it."
Interestingly, he has no plans to settle down. He asserts, "I am already settled down and don't have to marry in order to settle down." Well, Rahul this may break some hearts!
Venting his anger against politicians and speaking of the desired changes after the terror attacks in Mumbai, he says, "The politicians need to stay calm and focussed. A federal agency to tackle terrorism is needed. The internal security of every state needs to be monitored closely. Passionate recommendations need to be made and proper anti-terror laws have to be implemented. Reforms in police services should be implemented and the police force should be provided with the latest equipment. All this needs to be done in order to prevent a mishap like this from happening again." Only if our politicians could start thinking on the same lines.
