Mouni Roy accuses British Airways of ‘horrible’ treatment at heathrow, says she had to ‘beg and cry’ to board flight
Mouni Roy, who is gearing up for the release of 'The Bhootnii', recently expressed her frustration with British Airways over poor treatment at Heathrow Airport. After an 11-hour journey, she and part of her team arrived, while another member was booked on a different flight. Mouni said she politely requested a staff member-whom she described as a Muslim man-to accommodate all four team members on the same flight, even offering to pay extra. To her surprise, the staff member reportedly reacted angrily, upset by her tone, and questioned whether she even intended to fly.
Lack of Support from Bystanders
Her tweet read, "To mine and my entire team if women’s amazement none of the women standing there supported us but I do believe they are the reason we boarded the flight. If it was upto that horrible man he would be laugh and be happy if we missed the flight. Look into this, please. I'm not worried at all. Please do look into this for women and people for other countries who aren’t on social media. Thank you."
Tagging Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Additionally, Mouni tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sharing that she was forced to plead and break down in tears just to get on her flight. She called for strict measures to be taken against the male staff member who reportedly behaved rudely toward her and her team.
Demand for Equal Treatment
She wrote, "You guys must appoint human beings who think everyone is an equal and not racially superior. One shouldn’t have to cry to board a flight if they haven’t done anything wrong and just have had a conversation. That man was horrible but the women even though they understood were supporting him. Coz team. So no. I’ll say what I have to say out in the open coz me and my team was treated horribly."
Allegations of Neglect During the Journey
Mouni shared that after the intense confrontation, not a single member of her team was given water throughout the trip. Expressing her frustration, she wrote, "Is this racism or let us know what. Not cool!".
