Trinamool Congress
All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), colloquially the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is a political party that is predominantly active in West Bengal. The party is led by Mamata Banerjee, the current Chief Minister of West Bengal, who has led the state since 2011.
It is currently the third largest party in Parliament with 23 members in Lok Sabha and 13 members in Rajya Sabha and 235 MLAs in State legislative assemblies of India, just after BJP and INC. In 2016 the Election Commission recognised TMC as a national political party.
This year, the TMC will enter PM Modi and home minister Amit Shah's stronghold by jumping into the fray in the 2022 Gujarat assembly election. Banerjee’s party is now looking for a share of the spoils in the coming polls and to make its presence in the state.
The party name and election symbol represent 'grassroots'– the name contains the Bengali word Trinamool, which literally means grassroots, and the symbol is a sapling emerging from the ground.
Ma Mati Manush was primarily a slogan, coined by Mamata Banerjee. The term is literally translated as 'Mother, Motherland and People'.

A state body has been formed and a convener has been named for the party’s Gujarat unit. The party has decided to contest alone in the assembly election.
