Kochi: Laity activists under the banner of One Church, One Qurbana laid siege to the office of the vicar of the major archbishop for Ernakulam-Angamaly archdiocese, Mar Joseph Pamplany, alleging a conspiracy to sabotage the Church's decision on unified liturgy. They demanded the implementation of a uniform mass, continuation of the current curia, and eviction of four suspended priests. Accusing Pamplany of pushing unauthorized decisions, they also sought his resignation. Meanwhile, a group of priests belonging to Athiroopatha Samrakshana Samth said Pamplany's efforts, backed by Church leadership, aimed to resolve the four-year liturgy dispute and accused protesters of trying to disrupt a key presbyteral council meeting.
