Clouds, winds promise weather relief for locals

Kanpur: Citizens may get relief from scorching heat in the next five days as the sky would remain clouded.
According to the weather forecast received from Kanpur and India Meteorological Department, due to light to moderate cloud cover in the next five days, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain locally with strong winds, thunderstorms and dust storms between May 2 to 6.
Weather expert of Chandra Shekhar Azad Agricultural University, Kanpur, Sunil Pandey said that city witnessed maximum 34 degree Celsius temperature on Friday which was 5.6 degree less than normal. On the other hand, minimum temperature was recorded as 25.4 degree which was 1.3 more than normal.
Relative humidity also reduced to 51 percent. Pandey stated that when relative humidity decreases, the amount of water vapours in the air decreases leading to a dry environment.
This can have several effects on human health including dry skin, respiratory problems and eye irritation.
Additionally, lower humidity can increase the risk of respiratory infections and allergies.
Though in the morning, climate had changed and it appeared that mild rain would take place but strong wind cleared the sky.
