Ponda: Irked over the irregular water supply, women from Vadabag-Usgao have threatened to greet chief minister Pramod Sawant with empty water pots if their water issue is not solved within eight days.
Several women from the Vadabag-Usgao held a ‘ghagar morcha’ (water pot rally) to the Ponda water division, under local panchayat member Manisha Usgaokar. The women confronted the water division assistant engineer, Kashinath Saraf, who has assured them to look into their issue as a priority.
The women have told the reporters that the issue persists for the last several months and that this was their fifth ‘ghagar morcha’.
They said if their water problem is not solved within eight days, they would attend all functions of the chief minister, who holds the PWD portfolio, with empty water pots.
An official from the water division revealed that the area gets water with proper pressure and he would check where the problem actually lies.
