Don’t relieve player from coaching camp: HC to kabaddi assn
Panaji: The high court of Bombay at Goa has directed the Goa Kabaddi Association not to relieve professional kabaddi player Bhavani Rajput from the ongoing residential coaching camp at circuit house, Altinho. This is to prepare for the National Federation Cup, which will be held from May 2 to 4 at Amravati.
The high court has also issued a notice to the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India in a petition filed by Rajput. He stated that he was relieved by the Goa Kabaddi Association from the coaching camp and that he cannot represent Goa based on a letter from the federation.
The federation, in a letter on April 17 this year, stated that each player should strictly represent his or her respective state unit only. Exceptions are allowed in special cases of relocation of players due to the transfer of a govt employee, marriage, or unavoidable circumstances, which may be considered under exceptional cases.
The association informed him on April 19 that he cannot be accommodated in the Goa state team for the Federation Cup 2025 and stands relieved.
The high court will hear the case again on Monday.
