Bhopal: Cloud cover gave some respite from rising temperature in Bhopal and other parts of the state on Sunday. A warning of thunderstorm and strong winds existed for many places in the state.
The day temperature in Bhopal on Sunday was recorded at 39.2 degrees celsius, two degrees less than the normal mark, while night temperature in the city was 24.0 degrees celsius, a degree less than the normal mark. The day temperature in Ratlam was 43.4 degrees celsius.
In the forecast for Bhopal on Monday the meteorological dept stated there would be partly cloudy sky with possibility of thunderstorm, during afternoon and evening hours. Day and night temperature will be respectively 39 degrees celsius and 24 degrees celsius while average wind speed will be 22 kilometers per hour.
In the forecast for the state the meteorological dept issued warning of thunderstorm with lightning, gusty wind 50-60 kmph, hailstorm at isolated places in Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Panna, Pandhurna and Maihar districts.
A warning of thunderstorm with lightning, gusty wind 40-50 kmph was issued for isolated places in Vidisha, Raisen, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh and Niwari dists.
A possibility of rainfall, drizzle with thunderstorm and lightning was underlined for Vidisha, Raisen, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari and Pandhurna dists. Dry weather would prevail over remaining dists in the state.
In the weather outlook it was stated no large change for 24 hours then slowly rise by 2 degrees to 3 degrees celsius. The meteorological dept stated the western disturbance as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level roughly along longitude 77° east to the north of latitude 18° north persists. The cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan and neighbourhood extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level persists, the meteorological dept added.
