MELCloud first registration fail

The problem

I try to install a MELCLoud controlled air condition. MELCloud on the phone is working OK.

I add the integration and insert the same login data that is used for the app, but I get the error "Unknown error occurred"

I checked the log and there is this error:

There is a similar issue that has been closed, but in my case is not a network problem, I cannot see any problems with connectivity in the log. If there is anything I can check, vthen let me know.

The installation is quite fresh and doesn't have a lot of devices installed.

I cannot provide diagnostic data, because can't finish the install process.

Another issue reported was resolved since the user didn't had an internet connection enabled.

This time it would be good to check if you can also login via the web interface of MELCloud. The API uses a reversed engineered variant of that web interface. Tracing the network calls and focus on LoginData would give insights.

Could this be an issue related to signing up using the new "melcloud home" app instead of the "og melcloud" app? I think that's my issue, and now I cant register the device in the old app. Will this integration support the new "melcloud home" account in the future?

Yep, having same issue, same logs as above. I've had a look at closed bugs with what seems to be the same issue, however the brief explanation on how it was 'fixed' was above my knowledge. Problem seems to be well and truly still there. Like AaronMountford, I can log in to https://app.melview.net/ without issue

Ok, many error stacked.. no supervisor internet connection was the first. Solving this, im able again to update HA and reload the integration succesfully.

I'm able to do integrate successfully in Homebridge.

Found a bit of a (not ideal) work around.
Integrated into Homebridge (used Portainer - a bit of an effort). Used Homebridge to add to Apple Homekit. Removed device from Homekit. HA will then pick up automatically that there is a device to be integrated and give you a notification. Good luck!

Would require that we update the underlying library. Which is currently put on archive by its maintainer.
