Objective

Document actual BitQuan TPS capacity based on current parameters (not marketing hype).


Content Outline

  1. Current Parameters

    • Block time: 600 seconds
    • Block weight cap: 4,000,000 WU
    • Signature weight: 384 WU
  2. TPS Calculation

    Max signatures = 4,000,000 / 384 ≈ 10,416
    Max TPS = 10,416 / 600 ≈ 17.36 TPS
    Realistic (1.5 sigs/TX) ≈ 11.57 TPS
    
  3. Comparison Table

    • Bitcoin: ~7 TPS
    • BitQuan: ~12-17 TPS
    • Ethereum: ~15-30 TPS
  4. Bottleneck Analysis

    • Signature size (PRIMARY)
    • Block weight cap (SECONDARY)
    • Block time (BY DESIGN)
  5. Honest Assessment

    • NOT for: high-frequency trading, micro-payments
    • IS for: store of value, large transfers, long-term security
  6. Optimization Roadmap

    • Short: Compact block relay

    • Long: Layer 2 solutions

Key Finding

BitQuan is NOT designed for high TPS. We accept this trade-off for genuine post-quantum security.
