    • Electricity and water dispute: "One of my clients had a commercial electricity connection. In case of such connections the electricity charges continue to be billed whether electricity is used or not. So my client informed the power company that due to some fire safety work his connection should be turned off for 3 months. However, the power company failed to do so and billed him Rs 1.35 lakh. Hence the legal dispute started. Ultimately in the Lok Adalat he settled the case by paying Rs 5000 (excluding legal cost).”
    • Motor accident claims case: "In another case, a client who became 45% disabled, claimed Rs 8 lakh from the insurance company under Motor Accident Claims Tribunal Act (MACT). The Insurance company was paying Rs 3 lakh. Ultimately in Lok Adalat he got Rs 4.25 lakh. In MACT cases the judge takes the opinion of medical experts and works like a mediator between the insurance company and the accident victim.”
    • Motor insurance civil case: “In another case where I represented an insurance company, a car got stolen and the owner demanded Rs 12 lakh (IDV- Insurance Declared Value)) plus interest. However, when the insurance company’s surveyor investigated, the owner said that he had lost the spare key but he did not file an FIR for this. Ultimately in Lok Adalat the matter got settled as the insurance company was ordered to pay 70% of the money i.e. Rs 9 lakh and settle the case in full.
