Amid heightening India-Pakistan tensions, portions of a projectile were found by security forces in Sirsa district of Haryana on May 10, news agency ANI reported. According to local residents, the incident occurred close to a church in the vicinity. One local individual told the news agency, “My son witnessed the event and informed me that something was falling from the sky... Shortly thereafter, we heard a loud explosion. By morning, we learned that it had landed near the church.”

In a separate incident, a loud explosion was reported in the Akhnoor area of Jammu and Kashmir during the early hours of Saturday. At approximately 3:30 am, a resident named Somraj heard a significant blast near his residence. He shared with ANI, “It was around 3:30 am when I heard a loud explosion. We immediately went outside and alerted our neighbors. The surroundings were filled with smoke. I am unsure about what exactly it was.”

Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries as per local accounts. Residents noted that similar explosions could be heard from surrounding areas. In response to the situation, a complete blackout was enforced in Akhnoor during the early hours of Saturday. Residents also reported hearing explosions and sirens in the vicinity. A blackout was similarly implemented on Saturday after drones were allegedly sighted in Jalandhar, Punjab. The Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar stated, “We have initiated a temporary blackout due to reports of drone sightings in Jalandhar. Forces are currently conducting checks. We urge everyone to remain calm and adhere to the blackout protocols.”

Simultaneously, the Indian Army conducted a robust retaliation in the Jammu sector following drone attacks on Indian cities attributed to the Pakistan Army along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB), according to defense sources. Amid rising tensions with Pakistan, drones were successfully repelled at 26 different locations, extending from Baramulla in the north to Bhuj in the west, along both the International Border and the Line of Control on Friday.
