Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

The 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 158.32 points at 82055.11

NEW DELHI: Sugar shares closed higher in the Tuesday's session.

Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd.(up 3.27%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd.(up 2.34%), KCP Sugar & Industries Corporation Ltd.(up 2.33%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(up 2.29%), DCM Shriram Industries Ltd.(up 2.15%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Ltd.(up 2.03%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd.(up 1.88%), Rana Sugars Ltd.(up 1.69%), Sakthi Sugars Ltd.(up 1.69%) and Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd.(up 1.60%) stood among the top gainers.

Ponni Sugars(Erode)Ltd.(down 1.51%), Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd.(down 1.05%) and EID Parry(India)Ltd.(down 0.23%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 72.45 points up at 25044.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 158.32 points at 82055.11.

Jio Financial Services Ltd.(up 2.61%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 2.57%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 2.18%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 2.11%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.81%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.55%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.48%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.38%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 1.36%) and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.35%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 2.97%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.49%), Trent Ltd.(down 1.03%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.95%), NTPC Ltd.(down 0.8%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.7%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.67%), Bharat Electronics Ltd.(down 0.58%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 0.53%) and Reliance Industries Ltd.(down 0.42%) closed in the red.
