Dianne Bank

Dianne Bank

The Dianne Bank (image centre) is a large, almost completely submerged, submarine bank formation located west from the Willis Islets (at right in the image) and east from the twin reefs of the Moore Reefs group (left side of image).

The formation extends for 65 km (north to south) and is up to 25 km in width, covering an area in the region of 1,300 km². Depths over the bank are shallowest along the northern rim, becoming progressively deeper towards the south. A single tiny cay — known as Dianne Bank Cay — is located at the northwestern extremity (bright spot at top center of the image).
