Members of the Unity Baptist Church entertaining the public with their own unique brand.


The members of the Unity Baptist Youth are taking the Hibiscus 2010 Festival by storm with the upbeat brand of evangelising as part of the Fiji Prisons and Corrections Services Hibiscus Festival outreach progarmme.

The 30 member groups have been wooing the thousands of spectators down at the Yellow Ribbon stage with their dance skits, modern dance and trendy tunes that carry God’s message of love and hope.

Pastor Netani Bolatolu said that when they were approached by Fiji Prisons and Corrections Services they jumped at the chance because of the significance of the Yellow Ribbon Programme.

“When the Fiji Prisons approached us to join them as a partner in this year’s Hibiscus Festival we agreed straight away, because we believe in the principle of the YRP and that is giving a second chance.”

FPCS Public Relations Officer Fred Elbourne said that FPCS was fortunate to have an association with youth group because the group was very versatile and they blended well with YRP.

“We are quite fortunate to have such a versatile group, they keep the crowd entertained and their message of love and forgiveness is in line with the theme of Yellow Ribbon which is giving ex-offenders a second chance.

The Unity Baptist Youth Group will be performing every night at the Yellow Ribbon stage during Hibiscus 2010.
