Requests for global rollback permissions

24 hour grant of GR to User:Revent and User:Stemoc and User:Russavia

Due to a processing of deletion requests at Commons, there has been (reflectively incorrect) widespread image link removal xwiki by CommonsDelinker bot. To help with a quick reversion process, I have granted User:Revent and User:Stemoc with GR for up to 24 hours to undertake the clean up of this situation. (request by IRC from Commons admin undertaking local undeletion process).

Adding Russavia.  — billinghurst sDrewth 04:40, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

Global rename for WJBscribe

Hello. I'm Will. I've been a bureaucrat on enwiki since November 2007 and have performed 3220 renames according to en:Wikipedia:Adminstats. I'm willing to help out with global renames. I notice that there seems to be some controversy about how long these requests should stay open, so I'd like to note that I'm in no rush for the user right and would be happy for this discussion to last 2 weeks instead of 24 hours if the shorter period is controversial. Hi, I have been a bureaucrat on Japanese Wikipedia since September 2010 and have performed 240 renames and usurpations there. I would like to help users who want to rename his/her account as a global renamer. I'm ja-N and en-2, so I could help Japanese speakers mainly and also communicate with other users in English (I have experiences on Wikidata, a multi-language project, as an administrator since April 2013). Thanks for your consideration. --Penn Station (talk) 18:34, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

  • Oppose Oppose as this candidacy would qualify under the proposed policy for speedy approval in 24 hours without objections, hence not allowing anybody but a few meta insiders to comment, I have to formally oppose the candidature so that at the very list the full three days of evaluation have to run and those who do not daily monitor meta have a chance to voice their opinions and concerns, if any. This is nothing against the candidate personally, but I'm sure they would agree with me that 24 hours is not an appropriate time period for a global right. Snowolf How can I help? 00:17, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
And why didn't you raise your concerns when this was proposed and you became aware of it? Sorry, you're not just undermining this consensus but are also stultifying the users who worked on reaching it. This oppose is no valid objection as per global renamers and should be ignored. Cheers, —DerHexer (Talk) 00:29, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
@DerHexer: When exactly was that point discussed? I don't think 24 hours is nearly enough time to vet a candidate for such an easily abused/misused right, even if it only applies to bureaucrats. There is a reason that Meta:Snowball exists. PiRSquared17 (talk) 14:24, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
There is Talk:Global renamers, there were discussions in advance where Snowolf of Barras could have raised their concerns (Barras even did and his concerns were taken into account, now oposing this compromise no one complained about looks rather offensive). —DerHexer (Talk) 14:29, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Global rename for rxy

Not ending before 2 September 2014 00:01 UTC

Hello all. I'd like to application for global renamer right. I'm bureaucrat of Japanese Wikipedia since 6 Aug 2012. I renamed 144 accounts as per local renaming policy and request from 12 Aug 2012 through 31 Jul 2013. if I have a global renamer right, I'll be rename users as per request mainly from japanese users, when that request are clearly based on policy.--Rxy (talk) 00:01, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

  • That action was based on previous renaming operation. In japanese wikipedia, policy decide to make a new account for new target account name protection before that requesting.
For example, when currently user name is "Example" and new user name is "NewUsername".
  1. We usually first renaming "NewUsername" to "Rename20240423142102" ,
  2. Then "Example" to "NewUsername",
  3. Finally "Rename20240423142102" to "Example".
Stewards does not do these. And I needed that action to confirmation for already requested my renaming in other wikis. When I want to renaming, I'll requesting that to other global renamers or stewards.--Rxy (talk) 17:05, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for explaining the general practice, but I still don't see why that particular renaming was done by you, not by another bureaucrat, although you were involved in the case. Would you like to explain a bit more on that? whym (talk) 09:34, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
[en] My renaming request is really approved and handled by the steward. I don't think to need a new request for that to another bureaucrats or stewards when I can do that. Our policy never denied for renaming by own self if that action having good reason. Please explain to when I violate to local policies or guidelines?
--Rxy (talk) 13:11, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

@User:Barras Did you notice that I already voluntarily extended the discussion period to three days to account for snowolf's concern? --99of9 (talk) 13:00, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
Most likely not as he just wants to make his point and torpedo a consensus he didn't object to when it was appropriate. Cheers, —DerHexer (Talk) 13:23, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
I'm pretty disgusted that now we have two stewards making POINTy edits here. These discussions occurred for literally months, and neither bothered to contribute in a meaningful way. Regardless, neither of these opposes are valid per the policy as they do not reflect upon the user, so they can safely be ignored. Ajraddatz (talk) 13:54, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
I raised my concerns about the time those elections will last weeks ago (see link above) and also said that on the steward mailinglist at some point. One day or three days doesn't make much difference. It is about a global right, not all are watching meta daily. I think it is unfair to the vast majority of the community to rush through global right requests within one day or three. There is no reason to rush this. There is no reason why those requests can't last for seven or maybe even 14 days. (Sorry for posting here, just don't have the time currently to read through half meta to find the right place to post. It is nothing personal against any candidate, just my very own opinion...) -Barras talk 22:08, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
So you haven't even noticed that the global renamer group is not a global one and that it is much less abusable than "renameuser" (you cannot break SUL) which all of the applying bureaucrats have already assigned to their account? Great! Vogone (talk) 22:13, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
And before this is misunderstood, I don't particularly care about how long these requests last. I'd be fine with Barras' proposal but find the way he tries to enforce it totally inappropriate. Vogone (talk) 22:22, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
I also don't particularly care how long the requests last for. My point is that the "formal" oppose will not achieve an extension beyond 3 days, which this particular application is already at. So this oppose achieved nothing, even if it is counted. --99of9 (talk) 23:48, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Global rename for Taketa

Not ending before 3 September 2014 06:16 UTC

Dear fellow Wikimedians,

with this request I would like to volunteer for the global rename permission. Since I am not a regular on meta let me give a short intro. I am a Dutch Wikipedian, bureaucrat since February 2010 with 109 renames/usurpations. I write articles, work on projects and add images. Other activities: Wikidata admin, OTRS member, Commons file renamer. Dutch Arbcom member in 2009/10 and 2012/13. Visited Wikimania in 2011/2012, instructed at introduction courses, coordinated introduction courses at Maastricht University Library, Eindhoven Wiknic 2014, and most recently a Dutch/German Museum cooperation.

I would like to focus on requests on the several Dutch language projects (nl), and the West-Frysian (fy) and Limburgian (li) Wikipedias. I can also help out in English speaking projects but prefer gaining some experience first. I have read the Global rename policy and the meta talkpages concerned with the userright. Let me know if there are any questions.

Sincerely, Taketa (talk) 06:16, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

Sorry Taketa, I do like you but for me this is a no. Natuur12 (talk) 13:59, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

  • Oppose Oppose - I'd rather don't see an nlwiki crat as global renamer since I'm anything but happy about them. As you can see at the request page for renaming of an account on nlwiki, it take very long there to process such requests. Taketa says he will respond very fast when someone leaves a message for him (and that's true), but that isn't the right way. A crat (or in this case, a global renamer) should watch such pages and process a request as soon as possible, and not wait until someone wil notify a user (or global renamer) about a request. JurgenNL (talk) 16:26, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
    • I watch crat request pages. It is true that recently there was a crat backlog of 2-3 requests. With 6 people, 3 active, it happens. We all 3 have periods of being less active and when they combine, there is a backlog. As a global renamer I will be part of a large group, I do not take any renames away. I simply add renames. Nothing has been mentioned, about me being a global renamer, that would make it a negative thing. My edits are good quality, I am active, and I have the experience. I would like to give it a serious go. -- Sincerely, Taketa (talk) 17:18, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
PS: Becoming a crat is not hard, 1 year as admin and we accepted 9 of the 10 last requests. If you see a backlog, you could apply and help.

Done This request lasted for 3+ days, objections were brought up but withdrawn again. --MF-W 23:47, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

Global rename for Deskana

Not ending before 4 September 2014 06:29 UTC

Greetings! I've been a bureaucrat on the English Wikipedia for quite a few years, and would like to help out as a global renamer. I'm not the most active bureaucrat anymore, but am very familiar with the SUL finalisation, both as a volunteer and also as the product manager leading the team at the Wikimedia Foundation that is working on it.

Conflict of interest declaration: I work for the Wikimedia Foundation as an Associate Product Manager. One of the products I am currently leading the development of is the SUL finalisation. My request for global rename rights, and any renames I perform if my request is accepted, are done strictly in my capacity as a volunteer. It is incredibly unlikely that I will be required to rename any users in my role as a staff member, but if that eventuality occurs, I will acquire the appropriate rights on my staff account (User:DGarry (WMF)) and perform the rename using that account to clearly delineate it as a staff action.

--Deskana (talk) 06:29, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Clear consensus, recognized user. Pundit (talk) 10:53, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

Late comment, for the record. People who ask Deskana for a rename risk having it classified as a "sock" (should they accidentally edit with the old name, even if they immediately revert themselves and admit that the edit is theirs, and even if the new name is just one letter different from the old name, thus making it impossible for there to be any deception, and no matter on how many wikis they had the same rename done, no matter how public the rename is, and no matter that the old redirects to their new main account). [7] [8] It doesn't matter if you point this out to him: he will ignore your emails, misrepresent them, and lie about them. You may eventually get him to kind of apologize, but only after someone "higher up" asks him to re-read said emails, and stop lying. He will still pretend not to have actually read the emails (or to have misunderstood them), even if you had emailed him after the alleged "misunderstanding" and politely asked him to retract his lies. All in all, a very incompetent hat collector, who is now getting paid by the WMF, and is thus the strongest argument I know of not to donate to the Foundation. (I should have opposed his self-nomination earlier, but only noticed it today.) ~ DanielTom (talk) 11:40, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

One more thing. Deskana is also extremely rude and unhelpful. If you question any of his incompetent actions, he will simply revert you. If someone else is concerned that your real name is being defamed for no reason, and tries to (however imperfectly) articulate this concern, Deskana replies by pitilessly mocking you: "I believe in unicorns but unfortunately for Daniel my beliefs are no more true than his." This is not the kind of person we want as a global renamer. ~ DanielTom (talk) 12:08, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

I have deliberately set this request to run a week because I've been a bureaucrat for less than a year; while I am eager to return to performing renames, I'm not in any hurry and I don't mind this being left open beyond three days. Global rename for Mahitgar

Not ending before 15 September 2014 02:47 UTC

Hi, I am beurocrat from mr wikipedia. (This is log about change of name activity done by me on local mr wikipedia uptil now). We do have some local technical renaming concerns for Devnagari Script which I have discussed with User_talk:Keegan_(WMF) and I suppose I would need to support username change requirements and requests coming from Devnagri script using wiki's namely Marathi, Hindi etc wikis.

Mahitgar (He who knows ,wants to know and and loves to keep others informed) (talk) 02:47, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

  • I have two questions for you: 1) You mention helping on Marathi and Hindi wikis; do you plan on fulfilling other rename requests? 2) In a recent comment you have made on Meta, you wrote: "all mr-wiki project indiepandance be vehemently defended and not compromised at all costs and independance retained in favour of Marathi people only for ever." [11] Do you think that this will affect your candidacy and/or how you will use the right? --Rschen7754 03:17, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
Good questions
1.1) I said primarily to concentrate on Devnagri script language wikis and as such list goes beyond Marathi and Hindi to say bhojpuri nepali and more are there but bigger projects are no doubt Hindi and Marathi so I mentioned those names.
1.2) It not that we may not work for other requests at all but naturally including me most of beurocrats focus and concern is likely to remain to serve their own communities first, and secondlly including me for most of beurocrats from local language wikis we are busy in lot of other work in local wikis to do. We are here to take care of the load wherever and whenever possible and needed and will try to be assisting positively in the process whatever meta has adopted.
2.1) Including me most of local beurocrats will be representing and taking care of their own communities that does not mean we will be unfair to the others. As far as mr-community is concerned even for roman script usually a Marathi persons account naming would be unique and different and not much likely to go into conflict with another user name. And even if it goes in conflict some where we would be guiding marathi language users to use Devnagri script names rather than wasting their time over roman script user names. And if we are not much likely to go in conflict with roman script names issues then why rest of i.e. non-Devnagri script meta community need to worry about our actions.
2.2) As far as Devanagri script names are concened I have already mentioned that we will be consulting among ourselves and place mutually agreeable policy. I am sysop on one of Hindi projects, I was sysop beirfly for Sanskrit language project I know sysops well from nepali language projects and I do have a good enough understanding to find a common policy with them as far as Devanagri names are concerned.
2.3) As far as defending indipendance of project is concerned we do stand by that does not mean we are anarchyst in any way, If any such thought is in any body's mind they need to revisit their thoughts. As far we oursevels are concerned our thoughts and actions are transperant clear and well within spirit of wikimedia principles. From Marathi Wikipedias side I recently co-operated with Nemo, as Hindi wiktionary sysop I cooperated with you as per Hindi communities wishes. I am an editor on english wikipedia also when I will be representing english wikipedia I will be taking into account english wikipedia' community's views in account.
If this global renaming process at any point of time unduly interfers local aspects and remains unfair against wikimedia spirit certainly I would be the first person to point it out and defend local project independance very well. But according to me most probably in wiki projects user names are not that important also to waste time on unncessary conflicts.
Let it put me again as far as Devanagri script wikis I am capable to co-ordinate and resolve policy issues among ourselves. And we have no reasons to get in conflict waste our time with other language script wikis.
And still by opting Global renamer ship I have to surrender our project indipendance or any body feels I will aquire some other projects indipendance that moment I will not remain interested in this task. Am I clear enough ?
Thanks and regards
Mahitgar (He who knows ,wants to know and and loves to keep others informed) (talk) 06:34, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
@Keegan (WMF): is this the best of Meta you wanted experienced beurocrats from projects come and help for ? I did not understand how some ones pro project independance stance can be reason to question candidature in itself ? If some one puts his points others do not bother to exmine logic ? Even a single person has bothered to read technical problems I mentioned at User_talk:Keegan_(WMF) our local project is facing ? Is this the good faith Meta works with other project beurocrats ?
If global renamer issue is not properly addressed at Meta why WMF agrees and ind what hurry to make software changes unsuitable for local projects ?
Some one will come out with some excuses but simply this attitude does not help local communities and underlines importance of maximum local project independance.

  • Weak oppose, judging by the comments above, we have some communication issues which I would like like to see clarified before speedily granting a right which allows cross-wiki renaming. Savhñ 16:11, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
  • &  I would like to see more rename experience from the initial round of global renamers. This user has, I believe, performed only 11 renames in over two years.Snowolf How can I help? 18:26, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
@Snowolf: I have no argument against logic that believes who eat more tend to eat in more healthy way. First whatever requests we received on dedcated request page and requests received on my talk page I belive I attended all of them. I would have been more happy if you would have asked me what process and care I took while doing renaming, then I do have answer ready, you or any one for that matter is welcome to visit this local request page for non-Marathi requests or this local page for Marathi request every one is most welcome to read not only elaborate care taken while investigating the request but I have always taken notes why and how any particular action is taken. I have not only maintained best of communication practices who made the requests, also I have taken care to not only due effort to communicate with user whos account is likely to get usurped, even with their inactivity I have taken care to see that they are not active on any other project other than Marathi too , and even if they are inactive across all projects I have taken fair care that their ability to contribute in future should not get affected.
Forget my efforts if Meta is taking care of renaming and more hardworkers are there than me here, logically I should not have any comlaint and happy that my own time being saved, but again before putting up your comment have you really visited the concerns I raised at User_talk:Keegan_(WMF)#Global_renaming_Devnagri_script_Marathi_language_technical_concerns ; Is there any other steward or global renamer available with you (Meta) who can understand spelling mistakes in user names user:मादुरि बबन हवेलिकर , user:सचिन चव्हण and help those newbies so that if they try to log in again will not get a frustrating experience. In user:श्रीरम् in this case there a user name with correct spelling exists already Do you have any global renamer or steward who understand spelling mistake in this and what would be most ideal course of action. If you have any other steward or global renamer to give justice to such cases I would be most happy to withdraw my candidature here with; cause number of such cases for mr-wiki are rapidlly increasing and I am planning to send atleast a such dozen requests to Global renaming request page.
Following table gives you List of Beurocrats for Devnagri script wikipedias and their user renaming if any

Comment Comment To me this indicates that there hasn't been many undertaken as there hasn't been the indicated need. So it is hard to get the experience, though there is currently not a large requirement from the community for that skill-base. That may relate to comparative number of users, or the information provided about renames. So the skill will be needed at a point of time, but not demonstrably needed now, though it would be useful to have at least one user experienced in the Indic languages and scripts.  — billinghurst sDrewth 02:43, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
Done. There is a consensus to grant this permission to the user. There is no possibility of getting more experience with the size of the community he is working with and it will be more helpful if we have someone who is familiar with Devnagri scripts --Shanmugamp7 (talk) 13:27, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi. I was recently elected bureaucrat on es.wiki (May, 16 2014). Despite my short experience as a bureaucrat, since I was elected sysop, I have been interested actively in responding renames change requests in my local wiki (see here). Global rename flag would be very useful for me, as it is a task that I can collaborate and I want to help. I would rename mainly eswiki users, but I can also help with requests in Portuguese and French, always based in policy. Thanks for considering my request. Thanks for your message. I have renamed a few users, as I've always let Stewards respond to positive requests. This prevents to break global accounts. I've been waiting for the issue to begin to be handled in a unified way in Meta. But if you prefer that this request lasts 2 weeks, is not a problem for me. • Fine by me. Vogone (talk) 23:40, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
  • Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems all administrators appointed on eswiki automatically receive bureaucrat rights, i.e. administrator==bureaucrat. So there is no seperate appointment of "bureaucrats" on eswiki and users are not subject to an additional level of scrutiny over-and-above administrators. Accordingly, I'm not sure such users should receive "speedy" approval for global renamer the same way bureaucrats who have been subject to that additional scrutiny should. That said, the requesting user was well-supported by 95% of commenting users at their request for adminship. –xeno 16:18, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
You are right with your facts, though I disagree with your conclusion. I don't think the home wiki of a user, in this case eswiki, should be of importance when deciding whether a speedy closure is appropriate or not. We might not have a separate process for Bureaucrat rights, though we have one of the larger communities around here and our admins (and bureaucrats, therefore) are certainly trusted users. I wonder as well whether you feel the extra scrutiny on most projects is focused on the renaming ability, or mainly because they hold the possibility to grant (and sometimes even remove) admin and bureaucrat rights. I personally find the usage of the renaming tool a far more important criteria when considering this right. I feel the extra scrutiny is irrelevant, specially if we don't take the size of a project into consideration. Cordially, Savhñ 17:51, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
I think we should be more concerned with rename experience than what process they went through to become bureaucrats. Different projects have different standards; what's important is to allow experienced folk to continue to rename users. Though, a lack-of-experience argument is certainly valid here. Ajraddatz (talk) 22:04, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
  • Oppose Nope, limited experience White Master (es) 00:38, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

Comment Comment. For answer you all, it is true that I have a short experience renaming user accounts. However, since the page change request name was created in 2005, few eswiki bureaucrats have been active users renaming accounts. The most active of all is Savh. Despite I was elected only 4 months ago, I am one of the users that has more participation in the process of renaming users since 2005. Right now I'm in the top 20.

It is true that the majority of requests I answered I denied name changes for users with few edits or requesting inappropriate usernames. However, denying a request should also be considered when evaluating experience of a candidate. It is not just to have a large number of renames in the registry.

On the other hand, it is difficult to have a large number of user name changes in four months, specially now, because user accounts have been migrated to the unified identification system. Instead of responding to someone saying that I can not rename it because I have not the right tools, but I'll ask a steward to do it for me, I preferred to let Savh, who is an active steward in eswiki, respond to those requests. Anyway, I am interested in renaming user accounts task, and since last four months, I'm one of the users with significant participation in this task.

Just as additional data, since I was elected sysop on eswiki, I am the third most active sysop of my wiki. Also, I will actively use the flag if the global community decides to give me this flag. Sure, following the policies. Best regards. Jmvkrecords (Intra Talk) 05:15, 10 September 2014 (UTC).

Maybe my English is bad... Please correct my message starting from original text in Spanish:

Comentario.

Not ending before 17 September 2014 12:35 UTC

Hello. I am Céréales Killer from French Wikipédia. I am on this project since 2003. I am sysop since a long time and bureaucrat since 2005. With the new version of the account renaming, I would like to be able to help the other global renamers in this hard job and it should be useful to have an French speaker in this team. ©éréales Kille® 12:35, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

Global rename for Maire

Not ending before 18 September 2014 17:55 UTC

I am mostly active at Polish Wikipedia where I've been a sysop since 2005 and a bureaucrat since 2008. I'm also a Commons sysop. Even though two other Polish crats have been more active renaming users, I trust I am also experienced enough to be able and help Polish users with the global rename process. Global rename for Kegns

Not ending before 18 September 2014 22:36 UTC

I am from zh.wikipedia as a local bureaucrat and checkuser, babel en-2 and zh-N. I used to handle lots of rename cases locally at zhwiki. It is said that there're few Chinese-familiar renames or stewards, so I put forward this request to offer any help ;)--Kegns 22:36, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

yep, I know the confirmation, I had him in mind, indeed -jkb- 16:49, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi everyone! I'm a bureaucrat in Portuguese Wikipedia for some time and I have experience with renaming users (see rename log). I believe could be useful as an Portuguese speaker in this team. Thanks in advance. Érico msg 08:51, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

Not ending before 19 September 2014

I've been an very active user since 2005 on the West Frisian and Sater Frisian Wikipedia. I've been a bureaucrat for roughly about five years now and renamed several accounts on both the West Frisian as the Sater Frisian Wikipedia. I would be very grateful to keep this privalige, and I'm willing to help other Wikipedians to rename their account names if requested. Thanks in advance, --Kening Aldgilles (talk) 18:57, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

Global rename for Pmlineditor

Not ending before 20 September 2014 12:53 UTC

'Crat on Simple English Wikipedia for ~2 years and former crat on Meta. Not that many renames to be honest; I'd guess ~30 but I have several edits to the EnWP & SimpleWP CHU pages. If I get this right, I probably won't be super-active but I'll try to help when I can as I'm usually checking Meta even if I'm not editing. Thank you for your consideration. Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 12:53, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

Adding this because it might be relevant: we don't have a global renamer who knows Bengali ATM, so I might be able to help (if I become a GRenamer) in case there's a request for username change in the Bengali script. Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 15:12, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

Done, you are now a global renamer. Please check your information on Template:List of global renamers. Savhñ 06:16, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
Thanks everyone. :) Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 07:21, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

Global rename for JAn Dudík

Not ending before 20 September 2014 05:59 UTC

Hello, I am bureaucrat from cs.wiki and during years I had renamed some users, including many offensive usernames. It would be useful, if local communities have already possibility to rename such users (even if there is now possibility to hide this names). So I want to help with global renaming, especially for czech and slovak wikis. JAn Dudík (talk) 05:59, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

Global rename for Hprmedina

Not ending before 22 September 2014 15:04 UTC

Hi, I'm Sysop & Bureaucrat in es.wikipedia since febrary 2011 and es.wiktionary from november 2013 (Sysop & Bureaucrat too), it will be useful to have this right to rename users on several wikis. I have experience renaming users, so I would like to retain the permission to continue renaming. There are few spanish speakers who know how to rename accounts and would be required to attend the spanish requests. Greetings Hprmedina (talk) 15:04, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

I am Aced from Ukrainian Wikipedia. I've been a bureaucrat since November 2013 and currently I am the most active crat in ukwiki. --Aced (talk) 19:28, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

I feel tempted to overrule this groundless edit for the same reasons as I did it here. --MF-W 22:02, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

Global rename for Shibuki 803

Not ending before 7 October 2014 14:04 UTC
The user probably wanted to request global rename of their account. Ruslik (talk) 09:44, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
Maybe he should be asked. Meta:Snowball --MF-W 12:07, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
No need. Account was already globally renamed. Trijnsteltalk 12:30, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
Of course, and before that 5000 times. This however is still a request on SRGP. I see nowhere that the user tried to request a rename here. No desired new username is indicated. --MF-W 12:35, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

Requests for other global permissions

Global deletion for Pathoschild (temporary)

The global delete flag would only be used by Synchbot to delete users' *.js and *.css pages (by request) for the migration to the global CSS/JS extension. Synchbot was routinely used for similar deletions before I resigned my steward flag, so it can handle any case not supported by the existing migration script. (With global CSS/JS finally deployed, many users are left with hundreds of redundant JavaScript subpages crosswiki; this leads to strange quirks like scripts loading twice. I'll contact these users to offer to fix this with Synchbot.) —Pathoschild 03:37, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
