Letter writers include: Richard Thompson (Sept. 22, 1856: Fillmore vs. Fremont for President); Reuben Lewis (May 15, 1858: interested in Congressional speakers on "the Kansas matter" and pensions for veterans of War of 1812); Thomas Coldwell (Aug. 15, 1836: Tennessee volunteers going to Fla. to hunt up only Seminole Indians as most Creek Indians have already been taken); Olivia Hamilton (May 10, 1844: hopes no friends or relatives took part in riots, but if they did, hopes they killed some papists; a Whig procession in Baltimore)
