The stations for the red shared bicycles will be open through the winter season, Denver B-cycle announced Monday.
“We have grown to the point where riders depend on the bikes as part of their daily transportation needs … ” said interim executive director Nick Bohnenkamp in a news release. “Every Coloradan knows that winter can bring stretches of balmy weather, and there’s no reason to limit choices for our members any month of the year. Thousands in Denver ride their bicycles all year long.”
This year, Denver B-cycle opened 29 new stations, bringing the total to 82 stations with more than 700 bicycles.
The stations operate from 5 a.m. to midnight. Beginning Dec. 2, hours will be 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m, the release said. Regular hours will resume in mid-March.
